Haha I get how they got to the name (it’s the foldable version of the 9 Pro) but yeah, it’s a stupid name and they must surely have been told that many times when going through processes to get the name approved internally.

I’d be keen for one too. Earlier this year I bought a second hand Pixel 7 9 fold and I’ve been enjoying it.

Andre the Giant has been dead for over 30 years so I’m not sure he can throw as far as you’re expecting.

The rendering of pages seems fine, it’s the browser functions that seem missing. As an example, there is no “find in page”. If you press Ctrl+F, nothing happens. Many things work, including their strange tab grouping system that I guess will be their selling point. But I kept coming across the missing little things.

I’ve been playing with it since I guess towards the start of this year. The latest update still doesn’t make a browser I think is ready to call beta 🤷

I’m keeping an eye on it, but only loosely.

Yeah I tried KDE for a while, people talked about how customisable it is that you can do anything. But I never found a way to recreate that super key experience.

I’m a GNOME user and extensions are pretty easy to install. I use the wiggly extension for the mouse shake to grow thing, but unfortunately it has a maximum size of 256 which is plenty big enough to find it but you can’t shake it forever until it grows bigger than the screen. GNOME 0 KDE 1 🥲

You might have been expecting the response you got here, or you might not have. I know I learnt more about nazi/hate speech dogwhistles in my first few weeks as a Lemmy admin than I had learnt in all my life up to that point 😅.

I also know in those early days there were people worried my instance was a “free speech” instance because I wanted open conversations instead of bans. Mostly I think I didn’t appreciate how big of a problem it was, and for sure I had people registered on my instance expecting it was a “free speech” instance. There are people out there looking for a place to spout their hate and many think Lemmy is the place for it because it’s advertised as censorship resistant.

Please know that there is a strong belief (among both nazis and anti-nazis) that indicating a place as being able to speak your mind is a dog whistle for allowing hate speech. Over time if you find you aren’t attracting the right kind of members, you may need to tweak your wording. But also please know that the idea of supporting people to be better community members instead of flat out banning people does work for many members, because many people just don’t realise that what they are saying is harmful. Some people will be operating in bad faith though, and it’s typically the same small number of people that keep getting banned. Because you have open registrations, these users are more likely to come to your instance.

It’s also important to understand that the Fediverse is full of users that have felt unsafe on mainstream social media. Your rules against hate speech need to be strictly enforced, of you’ll find yourself isolated in the Fediverse as no one will want to federate with you.

I have too (uBlock Origin)! On chrome as I’m not allowed Firefox. But when I flick through the chrome store, almost all extensions are blocked. It’s like it was a deliberate decision to let us have it, which is considering the maturity of the organisation in other ways.

It has been many, many years since I played it, but I seem to recall Max Payne 3 was fine but cutscene heavy. More of a movie than a game haha.

Steam say 85% positive reviews, and the negative ones are split 50/50 between saying too many cutscenes and saying fuck you Rockstar for your shitty unnecessary launcher.

If you ask me for help with your computer, whether you’re my mother, mother in law, or uncle, if I had to open your browser at some point then I’m gonna install uBlock Origin. It’s unfortunately the price you have to pay for my help.

What I’m getting at is I’ve installed it on many people’s computers even if they are regular Facebook users.

Oh I am sure there are differences. I also recently found that the fireworks rockets aren’t implemented in Mineclonia (I found a issue in the bug tracker and a PR that was never merged where they talk about how it’s hard to do in the Luanti engine), but for the most part I’ve just been able to look up the Minecraft wiki. I bought and played Minecraft when it was in Alpha, so my knowledge is a bit out of date 😆.

I play Mineclonia with my kids.They are reasonably young still, so we play in creative mode and build great things together. I’m running a local server so they can all join together and work together.

I didn’t find out about Asuna until we were well into our world, so while I also have an Asuna world set up we haven’t really used it. I will admit that it’s very helpful to just be able to search up the Minecraft wiki to see how things work for Mineclonia.

Yeah I feel like they have always been open about their results pulling from a range of other search engines.
