Today’s game is some more AC Shadows. The above screenshot i took while following an NPC. I thought i had found all the cat breeds in the game to hoard in my base. But i had missed a Black and White one. Presumably now, there’s also a kitten variant for me to find so i can have it in my base too.
Outside of finding cats (which is an evening well spent) i also went too find a Legendary Deer that’s supposedly out in the woods at night. When i started, it was early morning, and from what i understand a single day is 24 minutes. Should be an easy wait, right? I thought so too, but those 24 minutes were the longest 24 minutes ever spent.
And with that wait i bring good news and bad news. Good news is i got some really good screenshots of the forest in spring. Bad news is that i died before i could reach nightfall. I went for a ride to kill some time while waiting, and stumbled on a Samurai stealing loot from this lady, and forgetting that i was in a region like 10 levels higher than what i was, tried to play the hero and promptly got killed. My last save was 10 minutes before that, so i ended up going to do something else.
That something else was the main story, which had me go after these merchants. I did it as Naoe thinking it will be an easy fight. I was wrong. I ended up having to out maneuver them with stealth and take them all down after losing them. It was a fun combat encounter and reminded me a lot of how i’d cheese fights in older games like black flag.
Eventually the mission took me to this shrine, where i had to gather evidence the merchants were gun runners. So i snuck around the shrine and grabbed all of the loot without killing a single guy. It was one of those stealth moments in this franchise where you can feel like you have the stealth down. No one sees you, and you get in and get out. It was an amazing feeling.
Finally, before going after the target, i had to chase this half naked guy through the streets after he tried to run before i could interrogate him. For being naked and i’m pretty sure drunk, he ran pretty far. I ended up catching him though and did it with style by using a ramp to follow him from the rooftops.
That was where i called it for tonight though, as i decided to save the actual assassination for tomorrow. So instead, here’s a pond of fish.
For a split second, I thought the first image with the cats was real.
Really? I get like very creepy uncanny valley vibes with these cats
The environment looks real enough. The “cats” look like weird demon creatures created by some entity that only knows dogs.
There’s something I like about those cat pics. Maybe it’s the way they look almost cat, but not entirely. Do they move like cats?
They’re semi-catlike? Sadly most of their movement is limited to walking/running around and jumping up on the Player’s lap when you pet them. I’d kill for them to be able to scale buildings and walls like the player though
I like to see good animal or bird life in games, really ups the immersion for me if it’s gotta good algorithm. Do they react if you kick em? An I think ppl have enjoyed looking after animals in computer games as long as there’s been computer games. I remember these tamagotchi things in the 80s or 90s, little LCD screens with some sorta animal you had to look after by pressing a tiny button.
I’ve been enjoying your screenshot posts, cheers
