Donald Trump is ramping up his efforts to use taxpayer money and resources to help Republicans win the 2026 midterm elections.

And it’s not at all subtle.

At last month’s Republican midterm convention, he severely pushed the envelope by promising every adult US citizen $5,000 if Republicans hold both the House and the Senate. That was already stunning — to offer voters money for a specific outcome. But Trump has only continued pushing the envelope since then.

Over the last 10 days, he has run more than a dozen different government-funded ads that are geared toward promoting himself and his supposed accomplishments.

Increased inflation, small payout for a long term interest payback, further devaluation of USD, illegal.

Also based on the amount of promises and current follow-though of said promised is zero. As well as his history of lying and stiffing contractors/ cities with rallies. I highly doubt this come to a fruition.

Even if he paid out 5K, that would not offset the cost of everything he’s done. For the average household, it’s estimated that he’s cost thousands just in tariffs ~ $3500 so far. Let’s say there are two adults in that household and they get 10K. Let’s assume it’s taxed 10% at federal level and state takes nothing, they’d get 9K.

They continue to pay tariffs the rest of his failed term and pay enormous cost of everything else thanks to inflation and his war with Iran. That 9K would easily be erased.

Even if he wins, he will never pay out the 5k. The guy only lies and tries to control people with promising money after he made them so poor and desperate they feel they have no choice but to hope for that money.

I got a random $50 on paypal yesterday from “President Trump’s FTC” I guess because I had 1 free month of prime in like 2018. Since when has anything like that bothered putting the president’s name on it? I couldn’t even find anyone else talking about this online other than articles about the settlement specifying that some people will receive up to $200, and I expect every single payout will have that dipshit’s name on it somewhere.

When President Donald Trump was reminded in an interview with Time magazine this week that he had said he would end the Russian war on Ukraine on “day one,” he claimed he hadn’t been speaking literally or seriously.

“Well, I said that figuratively, and I said that as an exaggeration, because to make a point, and you know, it gets, of course, by the fake news [unintelligible]. Obviously, people know that when I said that, it was said in jest, but it was also said that it will be ended,” Trump said, according to Time’s transcript.

This “in jest” claim is a lie.

On the campaign trail in 2023 and 2024, Trump said on dozens of occasions, in an entirely serious tone, manner and context, that he would end the war in Ukraine either within 24 hours of his return to the White House or even sooner than that. He said over and over again, including at both presidential debates of 2024, that he would have the war “settled” when he was president-elect, before his inauguration.

A Friday search of the Roll Call Factba.se database that catalogues Trump’s public remarks turned up at least 53 examples of Trump making such comments.

LOL he’s too stupid to even come up with some sort of political response to this. His official response is “LOL JK! And you know I was joking and damn you for saying otherwise!”

Anyone even considering trying for the $5000 should ask themselves what happened to the $2000 in tariffs money, the $3000 DOGE refund, or the $1776 America 250 payout. (I might have mixed up the first two.) He already owes the American people so much.

Hey, remember that scene from Braveheart? I can’t remember what exactly Mel Gibson said. He was making demands of some king. Part of it involving going to every home and apologising. Trump owes the American people at least that much. A true hat-in-hand apology at their front door. You’ll never see it though.

Won’t pay for his own campaign ads… If he doesn’t absolutely have to. After all, he’s only a pardon away from the issue becoming a non-issue.

In his defense, he probably does think he’s being super subtle.

Don’t forget, this is a guy who brags about his IQ… And his dementia tests which he obviously took for fun
