The Nazis weren’t persecuted for their beliefs, it was because of that whole invading other countries and genocide thing. Those people should be shot.

What the fuck are you talking about? No. Shooting fascists is not fascism.

Dehumanizing people is. If shooting fascists is required to get rid of them, then we may need to shoot some fascist people. If locking them up where they can’t harm others works, that’s sufficient. If training them somehow to not be fascists and instead be beneficial members of society, even better.

I support those who let people live how they want so long as they aren’t harming others, and support protecting society from those who would harm others when feasible. This does allow the eating of the rich, because we have a great deal of evidence that governments are unwilling to protect society from them while they live. Some caveats and nuance apply to that last part.

Dehumanizing people is a common tactic in fascism. It helps get people to do abhorrent things.

Does shooting someone dehumanize them? What is it’s self defense? Just to be clear, I’m not arguing that we should kill fascists, just that doesn’t make you fascist to shoot fascists.

The attitude is closely linked to dehumanizing. Just like calling them fascists, as if that is more important than they are people. It’s the same language as racists use with respect to race, and for the same reason - because people generally find it hard to kill other people, and the easiest way to get around that is to stop thinking of them as people.
