Case is Bubbleology’s fantastic 3dp design (closed source).
Alphas are MT3 (2048 Katakana), thumbs 3dp DES by Pseudoku (mjf print from jlc).
I really enjoy the board, but the thumbs are waaaay too tucky for me 😅 I basically can’t reach the 1.25u ones without significant discomfort / moving my entire hand. Good thing it’s got a few too many keys for my taste so i can just ignore those thumbs :D
Peek inside:
How much of this was soldered by you vs the pcb manufacture? Boards without a separate MCU have always fascinated me, but I haven’t been able to price one out because haven’t been able to figure out how to use JLBPCP’s pcb assembly service.
I only soldered the mcu module and the hs sockets. Usually also prefer seperate mcu board for flexibility and repairability
Nice Schiff ;-) Do you want to add a pic from the inside, showing the silk?
Oh, sure! And maybe post some pics of your own chiffs, too! 😏
You’re right, I really should

Yeah… I took one look at that image and my thumbs started cramping up right away. ;)
It does look very snazzy, though!
when ignoring the tucky thumb keys it’s quite nice :)
Do the thumb keys do the h-line and f-line modifiers? I’ve never seen a katakana board in action.
it’s just the legends, i’m not typing katakana with it 😅
