Not sure if this is a problem with my hardware, but my Linux (Gateway) laptop can only look around while moving in one specific circumstance: when I keep holding the touchpad and sprint. I use arch btw
Solution: Lower Palm Check™ sensitivity or disable “Disable touchpad while typing”, which serves to prevent accidental touching of the touchpad while typing, hence “Palm”
Turn off the setting to disable of the touchpad when typing. Basically whenever you press a key, it thinks you’re typing, touchpad gets disabled and you can’t look around.
It’s great when palm rejection doesn’t work well but problematic when you do want to use the keyboard and the mouse at the same time. Modifier keys are ignored so you can do things like Alt+Drag your windows but pressing W will trigger it. Hence, can only look around when sprinting and the W key has been released.
Omfg. I was so happy that linux allows me to turn this feature off to play whatever game.
Windows doesn’t allow this at all (but maybe new hardware, I stopped buying and using Windows Laptops)
I suspect that there is “palm check” turned on for your touchpad. This is designed to keep you from accidentally moving/clicking the touchpad by brushing it with your palm while you are typing.
Look for a “palm check”, “palm rejection”, or “disable touchpad when typing” setting in your touchpad utility. As far as I know, these are all roughly the same thing.
Have you tried a mouse instead?
Haha, yes, but I find pairing my mouse between two computers a little bit annoying.
Try a KVM switch, pretty cheap and very worth it
🤯
I doubt I’d actually buy stuff though

This sounds like a setup for a challenge run lmao
Disable resolution scaling for your desktop perhaps, or make sure the game runs in the exact same resolution.
