For me, I like it because it’s generally a very positive place, a place to race, a place to slow down and go fast with friends who I’ve never met.

I think it’s racing without all the hassle of racing games. There’s no open world, no vehicle customization, no story or cutscenes, etc. I click on a map and go fast.

Despite the simplicity there’s a toooon of content and variety thanks to community maps. Playing TOTD has become part of my routine. It’s just fun.

Family friendly. Basically can be plates by a child, as soon as it is old enough to play video games.

Simple. Four buttons, or an analog stick and two buttons.

Positive non-agressive graphics style. Basically it looks like a child’s play room. I also like playing “darker” games, but this makes it pleasant optically.

Map editor. The challenge of building a drivable fun map and then letting other people try it is a joy of its own.

Something to work on getting better at that stays positive the whole way through. If I don’t like the challenge, it’s easy to move on, or fav it and come back to it, or find the same trick in a TM school map so I can learn how.
