lol. Yeah navigating any driver website is a pita. I just search nVidia driver download and it drops me there.

That’s what in used to use but there are some features you can’t access without the physx components so I get the whole package now. For baseline it’s good for sure.
They’ve never been hidden. You just go to the website, put in your model and download it. There’s apps that do it for you now which is where this must be coming from. Still doesn’t change the fact you can directly download the driver.

The story is incredibly rich and outcomes depend a lot on your choices and playstyles. It never feels like you’re grinding for levels to me. There’s the occasional bug, but no more than other games I’ve played. I think it’s probably the first genre defining game we’ve seen in about a 15 years.

I waited over 2 years to buy it and think it’s the best single player shooter I’ve played since Bioshock/HL2. Have completed it 5 times now using different builds and am thinking about getting the expansion if it goes on sale at xmas.

Have dipped my toe in Linux gaming about a half dozen times starting in 2004 but it never felt ready til now. Proton, nvidia drivers and distros like Nobara making it not just possible but a better experience.

They can influence the conversation but not control it. If you find what you want isn’t supported then pick something that supports most things like Ubuntu, or Nobara.

Most of the people I see getting honours are regular folks. There’s a few toffs in there and the rest are people who genuinely did something, and they come from all walks.
1371113@lemmy.worldto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Disability campaigner unable to collect award on stage due to no rampEnglish3·1 year agoMany sportspeople are knighted (Dameified?). Service to community for regular folks also gets honours for those who stand out. At least in the wider commonwealth this has been true for all my life and my parents too. Look up Sir Clive Lloyd, Sir Bobby Robson, etc. There’s a lot of orders of knights who are appointed solely at the discretion of the monarch in there but those specific orders are usually related to the functional aspects of the monarchy. I’m thinking specifically of the orders of the Garter and Thistle here. Generally, at least in Elizabeth’s reign the majority of honours I’ve seen have been for service to the community, arts, sports etc. and the person has genuinely been involved.
Agree on the lordships though

Easier to get YouTube family thing and now my family doesn’t have ads and doesn’t have to root a phone to install the other apps. If it was just me, sure. It’s been the same for 20 years at least. My first nVidia card was a geforce2 but I had an integrated SOC one that borrowed main board memory before that called a RIVA TNT 2. Prior to that had an ISA SVGA card but can’t remember who made it:
