TrackerControl will let you block ads system wide. It’s kinda touchy and takes some finagling, though.
What sort of finagling are we talking? Also, I’ve been using AdAway for the past few weeks with mixed results. Could these tools be used in tandem or is that just silly?
The purpose of these corporate white papers is to inform (impress) potential customers of actual issues. It demonstrates knowledge and implies that the company has the ability to leverage their product or service to meet whatever the challenge is.
I wouldn’t say boulder-sized because the meat of the article is true, but yes a bit of skepticism is always useful.
I’ll admit it was incredibly jarring (for me) to experience Frieren outright say demons are 100% evil, cannot be trusted, and must be exterminated with prejudice. But what you say really is what makes it interesting. We’re so used to media humanizing villains in fiction that we just expect it at this point.
Flipping the trope and trend makes it novel again.
My friend has a cat named Dumb Bitch. She found her in the road after getting hit by a car. Apparently after the cat recovered and made her house it’s home, it ran out of a window and got hit by a car again. So she lovingly gave it that name after that
That’s a temporary fix, because oop may drive that car at times as well. I have the exact same problem
I’ve intermittently had the same issue
Is there a way to configure the hide/show read posts more granularly? I’d like to have it off when viewing a specific community and on for the broader feeds
This post, not necessarily the video, made me check it out. What a breath of fresh air
That was me. My mistake.
Dang I wish I knew that at the time. I had to run it many times before I was satisfied that my history was properly edited before deleting everything
I can’t speak to the article that you’ve posted several times due to the paywall, but I can speak to the language and the antagonistic attitude they actually used during the entire debacle. Placing explicit blame on third party apps like Apollo, Sync, Boost, etc.- that was the argument used. It doesn’t matter what the real reason was. They were publicly placing blame on small fish instead of the AI monster that was stealing all of their content and bandwidth
IIRC that was not the case. They very publicly blamed 3rd party apps, which was both disingenuous and not transparent.
I wonder if there’s been a follow-up since this article was posted
Seconding Kvaesito. Like many launchers, there’s some getting used to but I’m loving it.
Where do you get that view?
Chiming in that editing with proxies, while potentially cumbersome, is pretty standard. Feature films and TV shows are often edited in 720p for that exact reason. ProRes or h.264, depending on your needs and capabilities. Final renders are just a matter of turning the proxies off.
I dabbled in kdenlive for half a day while looking for something my nephew could use for a school project. Didn’t realize the lack of hardware acceleration until this thread. Still, it’s a great piece of software and I’m looking forward to watching it develop further
It really should be taken as way over the top, but with shit like this said all the time without an ounce of irony… It was impossible to tell
I went to their about page and realized I was in over my head.
You’d be surprised how little money it takes to influence a US politician
