It had a PR open before with gif search, but the desktop dev closed it because he didn’t want to review something so big. Nevermind most of the PR was just assets.

Technology@lemmy.world•Apple refuses to call Apple Intelligence 'AI'English
102·2 years agoWhat are some examples of Apple being patent trolls? Genuine question
Apple is bringing RCS because China is requiring it, not because of what google has done. So I don’t expect it to be bare bones in that case since a huge market of theirs will be phasing out sms in the foreseeable future.

212·2 years agoI find it to be a pretty tired talking point. Especially on this thread where it has nothing to do with technical aspects of Valorant at all, it still needs to be interjected for some reason. Anyone on this forum already knows about riot anti cheating software, it’s just beating a dead horse now.

43·2 years agoYeah, that’s all Alexa and Google have on home assistant.
That seems like a massive thing though. If the average Joe can’t even install the product, then it doesn’t matter if it has way more features than its competitors.

5·2 years agoLaunch Dropbox, or similar, to pull down your backed up media and files.
It’s not nearly as smooth as having the native solution though, which I believe is what this lawsuit is about. For example, the feature that lets you upload images to iCloud and delete them off your phone, but still have them visible in your photo app comes to mind.

World News@lemmy.world•Sri Lanka ends visas for hundreds of thousands of Russians staying there to avoid warEnglish
372·2 years agoI mean this kinda awful. They’re not their government and they clearly don’t want to be part of the war.
But they are racist and have a “white only” policy in a country that isn’t even theirs. So why should that country host them?
It comes amid a furious social media backlash over Russian-run businesses with a “whites only” policy that strictly bars locals. These businesses include bars, restaurants, water sports and vehicle hiring services.

It’s interesting what a bubble lemmy users are in. There is a reason it is not taking off and did not replace reddit for many people that tried it. It’s way too daunting and confusing for the average user, same with mastodon.
