So for someone who has a microwave that only works in minutes and actual seconds, meaning 59 is the highest my seconds can go, before the minute counter is increased. Do these microwaves just work in terms of 100 seconds? So if you input 10:00 it’s not actually 10 minutes but rather 1000 seconds, meaning it’s now 16:40 on a “correct” microwave?

12·1 month agoI’m glad that AI has not reached the stage of “if the internet disappeared” yet, because I work in IT and I don’t think I could get through a workday without the internet, but for AI I wouldn’t notice a difference, as all it does is transcribe my conversations, which I already do manually anyway.
Only buy the good stuff when you actually know it’s good
That’s a great way to never get new games. Obviously you have to take some risks, which is why return policies are great

A Boring Dystopia@lemmy.world•Imagine not being able to shower, because AI slop generator machines need that water!
51·1 year agoIf I remember correctly, a lot of people just didn’t vote, which means the people who did vote to stay just got screwed that much harder
Well the last couple of years still can’t vote, so I imagine that’s what they meant

5·1 year agoTaken from top result on google, so obviously not the best source, with that said
Seeing “sugar alcohols” in the ingredient list may be the only clue that erythritol is present in the food.
So you can’t necessarily even find it without some serious digging, so it doesn’t matter if they picked 2 or 100 examples, if they don’t clearly state it anyway.

3·1 year agoI have the Gemini settings but the app does not appear here. Should I consider myself “safe” or is it cause it’s still called Assistant on my phone?
If you’ve already made sure the mic and camera are working, you don’t need to enter the 2nd meeting 5 minutes early to make sure they work.

82·2 years agoIt’s more or less the fact that Trump isn’t going to do any better down there, so for this particular issue, whomever you vote for, you get the same result. Why not look at the bigger picture then?

World News@lemmy.world•Flatulent Cows And Pigs Will Now Be Taxed In DenmarkEnglish
4·2 years agoHaving just read it, it comes down to a CO2 tax on animals in general and not just cows and pigs.
“En CO2-afgift på udledninger fra husdyr. Der indføres en afgift på 300 kroner per ton CO2 i 2030 stigende til 750 kroner per ton CO2 i 2035 med et bundfradrag på 60 procent. Den effektive afgift vil dermed udgøre 120 kroner per ton i 2030 stigende til 300 kroner per ton i 2035.”
Posted the actual Danish text in case someone wants to translate into their own native languages in case of specifics. I’m surprised the agricultural workers agreed to this.

World News@lemmy.world•Flatulent Cows And Pigs Will Now Be Taxed In DenmarkEnglish
6·2 years agoFor part two, we don’t breed bison and elk in Denmark. Pigs and Cows are pretty much the only animals we breed that we also eat. We have sheeps too, but not in the same proportion.

World News@lemmy.ml•Greek coastguard threw migrants overboard to their deaths, witnesses say
534·2 years agoWhile I agree with your statement, there is also a difference in how awful we are, between allowing capsized vessels to just take their course and if we deliberately throw migrants overboard, as this post says is happening in Greece.
I think they meant that people do not see people left of the center looking to fix those issues, so it’s not surprising that people vote for the right.
Thank you for posting these here. Been a while since I saw one of these helpful posts for fashion report.

World News@lemmy.world•More Than Half the World Faces High Risk of Measles Outbreaks Following 'Big Gaps' in Immunizations, WHO SaysEnglish
9·3 years agoMore than half the world? We talking population or countries?
Seems like an awful lot, but I have no idea about vaccines in other countries. Also do you only need 1 vaccine against measles once in your life or does it require a 2nd one later in life?

No matter how good you are at this, it will always cost at least a second and in life threatening situations I was taught that every second counts
