Show me any science paper that is using latin outside of scientific names of animals or anatomy. No one is publishing their research in Latin

All languages are stupid. Japanese has 3 different scripts, with the kanji having made up characters that don’t even mean anything. Chinese has a coherent grammatically poem where every word is just shi making “Buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo” look like child’s play. Romance languages felt it necessary to give every noun a gender that you have to memorize, and German decided that wasn’t complicated enough so they added a third gender. Welsh and Gaelic use the latin alphabet, but just made up their own rules so the language doesn’t sound anything at all the way it looks to other languages that use the Latin alphabet.
All languages are messy and illogical since they evolve over time to accommodate the needs of the speakers at any given time, and then you end up with weird holdovers that no longer make sense, but that’s just how things are done so we keep doing it that way. Artificial languages have been created to maintain a logic, but no one uses them, and if they were adopted universally they would lose that logic as people use the languages in ways that were never intended.
I can’t help bit notice all these “debate me” chuds talk exactly like Gene Roddenberry’s writting style. Why does every conversation or discussion devlove into “the logic of your argument” “you misunderstood the logic of what i am saying”.
Kanye lost about 2/3rds of his net worth over night because Nike dropped the Yeezy brand. Being a partial owner of a niche brand is in no way comparable to someone like Musk who has controling interest in multiple market leading companies. Celebrity status can be leveraged to get a minority stake in a company, but minority owners can be forced out just as easily.
Kanye supposedly was before he lost all his endorsements for openly being a Nazi. Artists dont actually own any means of production so they can very quickly lose everything.
They aren’t written by experts. They are written by the chrapest writer that could be found. The error rates on a traditional encyclopedia is about the same as on Wikipedia. The only thing people love more than making shit up os calling people out when you know they are making shit up. Wikipedia is just as acceptable an academic source as Encyclopedia Brittanica. You can use it for some non-critical tangentially related information, but it’s a starting off point
Sure, but how is a useless middleman entrepreneur supposed to get a cut if the scouts make and sell their own goods to fundraise.
Portuguese is what happens when you let a bunch of drunk sailors create their own language.
Which for most people would give you a week of audiobooks to listen to in your commute to work.
It’s the dumb goal of tech bros to create an “everything app” that does everything you want.
I use Tidal and get annoyed because the shuffle clearly has a recency bias to it, and it keeps trying to recommend show tunes to me in my Daily Discovery, and the suggested albums for me has become considerably worse since the last update, but everything i hear about what Spotify has been doing has made me glad i switched over a couple years ago.
Dating apps are designed to keep you on them. They cant make money of you use them for a few months and then delete it.
Young people are actually using social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat to date. People you sorta knew in high school or college, share some mutual interests, and then hang out from there and see what happens.
My Instagram feed is already 90% ads. There are almost no posts from people i actually follow, and most of those are artists i like trying to sell their tour or merch. It’s a fundamentally broken platform as is
On a clear night I can catch a Cardinals game on KMOX on the Indiana/Ohio line. There have been reports of people in Glasgow being able to get the broadcasts. But it’s really only good for talk radio. Any music sounds like shit. But listening to a baseball game on AM radio is such a peaceful way to soend a sunmer evening.
It was for a baking challenge, and it tasted absolutely amazing!
Russia is just jealous because now his tail is machine washable.
This is exactly where i got mine from lol. Needed whole sardines for a stargazy pie last summer. The only downside is they take a long to prepare. Have to that them over night, then descale them, then gut them, then marinade them before you can cook them. It’s not hard, just a process.
I also ordered 8lbs of sardines last year, and am working my way through the final 3lbs of them. They are just so tasty
I know, but it’s frustrating when i search “restaurants in Cityville” and the results show restaurants in Cityville Indiana instead of my homestate. Or i search for “T-Mobile stores near me” and they list off ones 3 counties over instead of the ones near me. I understand that it is a privacy thing, but it is very annoying.
Same thing happens when i look up items on the grocery store website to see if they have something i need. Firefox seems to think i live over an hour away in Dearborn Michigan, so i have to adjust my location manually every time. I understand why it happens and i can accept it , but that doesn’t mean it isn’t frustrating.
That’s why they are advocating for a tax on those items as well. Makes them similarly priced to non-UPF options while also givign money to something useful like healthcare.
