2·28 days agoTo be fair, the IP is basically the only thing they can get, due their encryption they have access to the email body, which complies with privacy, but not anonymity.

82·1 month agoJesus, I don’t know who hurt you or why you are so salty like that.
I’ll stop the conversation here, funnily enough, the way you keep repeating the same thing in a different way is just like AI.
My best wishes to you.

92·1 month agoHow would I search something I don’t know how it’s called? As I explained the AI is just responsible to tell me “hey this thing X exists”, and after that I go look for it on my own.
Why am I a moron? Isn’t it the same as asking another person and then doing the heavy lifting yourself?

141·1 month agoI’m no AI fan by any means, but it’s really good at pointing directions, or rather, introducing you to topics that you didn’t know how to start researching.
I often find myself asking: “Hey AI, I want to do this very specific thing but I don’t really know what it is called, can you help me?”. And sure enough I get the starting point, so I can close that down and search on my own.
Otherwise, trying to learn anything in depth there is just a footgun.

It is a tool to scratch one’s head. It has those thin bending wires than envelop the head when you press the tool against it. It feels SUPER good, for those who like tho have their head scratched.

7·9 months agoDefinitely people, AI doesn’t do anything by itself, it’s a soulless tool.
Don’t get me wrong, I tried the switch, multiple times.
Where I live the vast majority uses pre-paid plans that give internet bandwidth, some calls but hardly no SMS, so that’s not an alternative, unless in an emergency or you want to contact someone unilaterally.
If I want someone to use it, they will have to convince their other circles to do the same, which statically decreases the chances of switching, and you get things like: “but we’re already talking fine on Whats (whatsapp)”, “it’s too much trouble to have another app just for you”, “I don’t care who’s behind the app, its works fine”.
To add salt to injury, many places (like stores, restaurants, salons, etc), have WhatsApp as the main communication method, some companies will even have the option to update you on things like delivery or banking solutions via WhatsApp.
It’s something so ingrained in our culture at this point that is super hard to change.
I’m not looking for solutions here, just stating a sad state of affairs, I like privacy but it’s not always an option living in society.
My trouble as well, I’d love to switch from Whatsapp, but literally every person I talk to and most people in my city/estate/country uses It.
There’s a “vendor lock” term, maybe this would be a “social lock”?

Honestly, it’s more about people than super heroes if get what I mean, the dialogues were so good that I often thought I was watching some animation of real conversations
