6·2 months agoOn GrapheneOS I don’t see those changes, just as a data point.
The battery icon looks the same too
Edit: that could be a GrapheneOS thing though, I don’t know. Maybe they didn’t make those changes, I still haven’t read the changelog

I’m going to say all LG laundry stuff must not be created equal. We have two washing machines at work and they both break every month . The only tech I can think of that’s worse are HP printers.
I fix ours (not my job, but it’s a good mental break from regular work), I start a new job next month and my boss asked what he should do about them.
Wait until they break and get something else, they’re not worth fixing. It’ll be cheaper and less downtime to buy something good.

71·2 months agoThe Exodus Report is really good, I would also recommend https://f-droid.org/packages/io.github.muntashirakon.AppManager/ . you can install an app, then check it with App Manager, before first run, which will often find more trackers than Exodus will
Edit: and https://themarkup.org/blacklight for finding trackers in websites

Good, this bullshit has never made a compelling argument
In its defence, Google argued that since it was not based in Uganda and had no physical presence in the country, it was not obliged to register with the PDPO, and the rules on cross-border transfers of personal data did not apply to it. However, the regulator rejected this argument, determining that Google is a local data controller since it collects data from users in Uganda and decides how that data is processed.
By 10am on Friday, data suggested an extra 66,000 internet users in the UK had begun using the dark web.
“People should be aware that children and adults who use [certain software] to bypass age checks will not benefit from the wider protections offered by our online safety rules.”

3·4 months agoYes, it was in vitro. Still interesting, and I would imagine will lead to further study.
As I said in the other comment the sugar alcohols are generally benign, I had not read anything to the contrary before.

4·4 months agoRead the study abstract in one of the other comments here, it’s based on a single serving of soda. Seems kinda bad, which is interesting because the sugar alcohols are generally benign. They’re non nutritive but most don’t cause any problems except stomach upset in some people. I find they have an off taste, many people do not though.
Edit: can brewing yeasts feed on it? Or are you using it to adjust sweetness level? My brewing experience is limited, I have only used wild yeasts and a few of the Safale strains

World News@lemmy.world•Risotto rice under threat from flamingoes in north-eastern ItalyEnglish
4·4 months agoThere are quite a few dryland crops. The rice usually used for Risotto, in this case Arborio, is not one of them.
I’m pretty sure that even if you grew Arborio as a dryland that you couldn’t sell it as Arborio because of DOP. Which would change its flavor, probably its starch balance, and decrease its price.
