8·2 months agoTo give you some context, I initially made this comment on OP’s post. Then I followed up with this comment after the resignation of a moderator on !selfhosted@lemmy.world.
I was referring to the former moderator’s very bizarre interpretation of Rule 3. You’ll see in the modlogs that many posts that were clearly about selfhosting getting removed under Rule 3.

40·2 months agoWell OP. Looks like your post resulted in a moderator resigning and the appointment of two new moderators in this community. As I’ve said previously, it was a moderator removing posts for a very far stretch interpretation of Rule 3, and not users deleting them after getting the answer.
Let’s hope this results in a better community for the selfhosters here.

47·2 months agoHave you checked the modlogs to see if the posts you’re talking about were deleted by the mods? The mods here seem to really not want this community to be a support community and will delete it under Rule 3.
Also the CEO of Fakku and Irodori lol. And probably MangaDex soon.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Linux gamers: Do you ever occasionally shut down your PC?English
1·6 months agoI’m reading through this thread and I’m surprised that there are actually quite a few of us who have trouble waking up their PCs.
I may have solved mine by increasing my swapfile from 2GB to 16GB. So far it hasn’t been an issue for me for an entire week. It usually kicks in every 2-3 days.

2·6 months agoFor me, I expanded my swapfile from 2GB to 16GB. I usually face wake issues every 2-3 days, but now I’m officially on my first week without issues.

3·6 months agoThere’s an option to put it to sleep so it can resume quickly the next time you need it. And you don’t need to restore your windows every boot up.

4·6 months agoI was experiencing a similar issue, and I may have fixed it by expanding my swapfile from 2GB to 16GB. I usually start having wake issues every 2-3 days, but I’m officially on my first full week without any issues since expanding my swapfile.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Am i doing something wrong here with duplicati?English
1·6 months agoTbh, that’s partially the reason why I opened your thread: to find recommendations lol. I’ve been procrastinating and haven’t found some good alternatives yet. But looking at what others are responding with, it’s probably best to give those a try.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Am i doing something wrong here with duplicati?English
13·6 months agoDuplicati is a good backup tool, period. As in, it’s literally just good at backups. When it came to restoring, it took me I think 3-4 days to restore around 419 GB of files.
I highly recommend you ditch Duplicati and look for something else. Or if you manage to figure out a fix, try restoring your files before you actually need it.
And another tip is that when creating your backup, you should copy the database file Duplicati creates onto a separate drive. For whatever reason, Duplicati puts its database files on the same drive you’re trying to backup. So when it comes time to restore, it wants you to grab the database file from your dead/corrupted storage drive.
I’m dropping the XVIDEOS link (nsfw, obviously).
