I’m still new here and to Linux and the whole age verification thing read to me as over-reactionary internet behavior you find all over reddit. No real underlying reason to make such a fuss other than to virtue signal to other linux users how security minded you are. Just makes the whole community look ridiculous.

Yeah I was looking around to install proton GE but it was more complicated than just using Wine and launching Noita without the steam overlay.

I just installed wine and launched Noita (a very cpu intensive game) with it, and the stuttering I’ve been experiencing since switching to linux has vanished. The game has never run smoother. Cant wait for proton to get up to date.

Yeah, turning up the lighting (essentially) on certain aspects of the background seems like an actual accessibility use case. There are probably far more direct ways of doing it that don’t interfere with artistic intent as much. I wonder if we will ever get away from raster lighting in a way that isnt buttfucking computationally expensive.

Its the kind of game who’s value can be gotten out of a youtube video. It was hardly the first game of that subgenre either, Gone Home comes to mind.

I think the vast majority of dog owners don’t really understand their dog. What their dog needs, how to read their body language, how to go about instilling discipline. The problem is that they are not cats, they need you more than a cat and are going to consistently take more work. You don’t really need to understand your cat for it to have well being but the same is not true for a dog.

What you don’t understand is that the average consumer just does not give a fuck. The ethics of their purchasing decisions are invisible to them and they can’t understand how their decisions leave an impact. This is true everywhere, but it is especially true of gamers. They will buy your slop year after year after year with no qualms.

The concept of sin is one of the conservative power structures of the church. If Jesus really forgave us then the idea of sin should hold no sway to a Christian.

I wouldn’t try to claim any different but that level of personal resentment towards anything isn’t healthy to carry around. So ironically you gotta do what jesus actually taught and learn unconditional forgiveness and then disconnect yourself from it.
