Star Wars is a movie about the policy of an authoritarian government, and the actions of those that fall on both sides of that policy. It’s explicitly political. It was written to be so.

Yeah, most Americans are generally not into the “USA USA USA” cult-like behavior of it all. Most of us are just regular people working shitty jobs to pay for shitty places to live. And all the grandstanding and “Do something!” from your rant is extremely disingenuous to the people are fucking doing something. Just because you don’t hear about it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. And you’re kind of an asshole for generalizing a whole people like that.

19·7 months agoSerious question: Do you think anybody would listen? There have been multiple former members of the White House staff and Cabinet you have come out with scathing tell-alls. Then there are the multiple communications leaks. Then outright just stating that they are going to do the thing.
I’m pretty sure we are well past the point of revealing his true end goals and ending him right there
Nonono, I meant to comment on the comment above you. My bad.
I can honestly take or leave Hemingway. I was never particularly a fan of his writing style.
That’s rad! I want to go there some day exclusively for the cats

Fun fact: Ernest Hemingway used to collect polydactyl cats and now, because of him, there is a abnormally sizable population of polydactyl cats on Key West, FL.

101·7 months agoThe U.S. IS inherently a “murder and pillage” kind of nation, yes. It’s kind of the only thing we’ve ever done. If you’re from the U.S. (like me) and you keep asking yourself “how did we get here?” Or “what happened to the America of my youth”, then reading a little bit about history could be helpful. Or shit, talk to any Native about what their history, culture, language is, and then follow up with “What happened to them?”.
The United States of America is a failed experiment. It’s time to put it down.

When you said that football guy kneeling wasn’t political, I started to seriously question what your motives are. He literally knelt, during the national anthem, in a political protest against police brutality. Politics isn’t capitol hill bullshit. I’m fairly certain that you don’t have a deep enough understanding about politics to come in here and be the arbiter of what is and isn’t political.
While I understand the sentiment of your statement, and I think it was well intentioned, I think you’re wrong
