I had the same thing when I was younger! In my head, it was like a thing people do just for tradition(or something?) that everyone knows isn’t real, but we play along for fun. Like when you knock on wood or wish on a star. Or when adults talk about what “Santa” brought them (and I don’t mean the people that genuinely believe in that shit). I dunno I had the concept well developed in my head like it was all some sort of metaphor and then my mind was blown when I learnt people actually think jesus was a real life wizard

POV doesn’t have a meaning, it’s just one of those artifacts that’s been around for so long that we’ve lost the knowledge. One day we may discover its meaning but for now it’s like the pyramids or those memes that start with “Nobody:”

I’ve given up on AirBnB in the last few years. When I first started, you could get great places for cheaper than hotels and it felt exciting having a house to yourself. I don’t know if the novelty has worn off or if the quality has got worse, but the last few times I’ve used it I’ve regretted it. “Check-in” is never simple. Bad directions to the place. Bad communication leading to issues trying to get the key. Stupid rules like having to put bedsheets in the wash. Reviews can’t be trusted. And it’s not even much cheaper than hotels now.

This doesn’t go for every AirBnB, I’m sure plenty are great. But a lot of times you don’t want the uncertainty.
