Doing the same here for Dragon’s Dogma 2.

I’m not well versed in how Denuvo works, only in how it tanks performance. Does anyone know if there is anything stopping Denuvo from checking purchase validity the first time, and on subsequent game launches it can access a secure folder with a file like an internet cookie saying “yeah, this game was bought legit at one point, let it run” and then not run alongside the game?

Ok, surely we have to be in a media bubble by this point right? I know Lemmy leans left, but still. Where are the articles quoting non-fabricated stuff Democrats have said that makes them look bad? Ohh, that and local proximity chat or server chat is a touchy subject these days. I’d love to see more communication in games. The recent ping systems have been a good start, but having more character eexpression like in Mordhau or Chivalry 2 would be nice. Make your characters say things in R6 Siege would be particularly interesting.

That’s fair. I love the gunplay of Apex (and can ignore all the battlepass monetization) but I could never just goof around in that game like I could in Halo 3 multiplayer, Planetside2, or TF2. I often ended up back in the queue after matching with people with thousands more hours of expierience. The alternative gamemodes were the most fun because I got to have fun while losing, which is less of the focus in today’s shooters due to the super high skill ceilings. Competative games are mostly made with professional teams in mind now. That’s what I want a return to and why I like Helldivers 2 so much.

Not only that, but the competative multiplayer scene is dominated by games appealing to professional game teams with high skill ceilings. Excuse me game devs; I have 1hr and 12min to play and I’d rather goof around than try to learn map layouts.

Hey, I don’t judge. I might only pirate media I’ve already bought (like when I couldn’t find my copy of a movie) but firmly agree with Gabe Newell that piracy is a service issue first and foremost. Additionally if you can’t own the game you buy I can’t view it as stealing. If there is a crack for Civ 7 or Dragons Dogma 2, I’ll probably buy a copy then get the cracked version for performance.

It feels like people make loving or hating this literally a core part of their personality, and is a good model of the enshittification of the internet. The more one side pushes, the further the other side pushes back. A new species has emerged from the mingling of internet trolls and keyboard warriors. I’m going to call it the internet troglodyte. Constantly inflamatory and escalating conflict, the trog does not troll for the lulz, but they have such strong opinions they must share them everywhere every chance they have, often harming the cause they purport while turning online spaces into echo chambers.

Yes. I’d just guess that the answer I interpret from those questions and what you interpret are different in a few ways. Understanding insensitivities that were baked into older media is valuable, and why I try to understand people’s criticism better. But just like Bill Gates giving to charity doesn’t make him a good person, having biases show up in a fictional novel doesn’t negate the moral lessons and the escapism it can offer. You seem to have a very strong opinion on the topic, and I have learned more from hearing your perspective. Thank you.

Oh yeah. He did work on loosing weight. I really liked his redemtion arc and character by the end of the books. Yeah, that was retribution from children to children. That’s a tall order with how most people act. Disney vibes anyone? There were few things that could capture a whole generation’s imagination so strongly, and people want to bond over it. My stance is taking what you like and making new things is how we get new series’s, and fanfic has it’s place in that.

This is exactly why it is so hard to quit YouTube. I’m happy my alternative works again after a recent update. Haven’t found better life tutorials anywhere else.

I just started a free character on Dark and Darker since it’s back on Steam. The gameplay loop is satisfying, and I feel ready to start playing teams and learn to fight other players.

I think his argument comes down to, don’t hate the playa, hate the game. Far better for them to have made the game, as it clearly is a good game. The publisher coming in and shitting all over everything is what makes the situation bad. Hopefully, this can serve as more inspiration for indie devs (who do make most of my fav games) and maybe lead to more studios not accepting Sony as a publisher. I can’t fault Arrowhead for wanting to make what they love, but I can hope Sony burns to the ground never to rise again.
