That’s a yikes from me dawg.

1080p looks abysmal on my 65" though. Is there any solution?
Interesting, I’ll have to play around with it. I’ve been docking it to my 4k TV so maybe I need to force a lower res.
Nice, thanks. How has your docked experience been? I’ve only been able to get it working well with low-power games like Monster Train. Any 3d game seems to run horribly, even older titles.
Do y’all use a controller in heldheld mode or only docked? I’m curious what the use case is here.
I went into it totally blind and really fell in love. I definitely recommend trying it out when you want to feel some feels.
Spiritfarer. Got it on sale for $5 a while ago and it’s surprisingly touching and addictive. I even cried at one point.
Oh man, I remember watching that for the first time. It was nighttime and there was a thunderstorm. The exact moment that a character’s fingernails were ripped out there was a massive thunderclap and my power went out. I’ve never before or since screamed in horror.
Very informative. I wonder why Nintendo went with such a poor-performing display. Maybe to get users onboard with the inevitable refresh model?
I snagged Steins;Gate for $3. I’ve never played a visual novel before and I’m not sure if I’ll like it, but I’ll give it a shot.
Seems like things are functional now. I imagine the servers got hit hard during the start of the sale.
That form factor looks quite awkward for one-handed use. OG Blackberries were amazing because they were the perfect size to do things quickly one-handed, but you could switch to 2-handed typing for longer messages. I think it will be tricky to capture that kind of flexibility in a modern phone because the screens are so large.
Use SteamDB to check price histories. Steam Sales often present the lowest historical price on any game.
Same here. Nobara was too glitchy so I switched to Bazzite and love it so far. Sigh.
I watched anime a lot in my youth and young adulthood, and found that after about 10 years of daily watching I could easily pick up a new show and understand the gist of what was going on. Complex words or exposition tripped me up, though. Nowadays I rarely watch anime but I’ve been studying Japanese daily on Duolingo for 4 years, and sometimes I’ll turn on a Japanese show as practice to try to recognize as many words as I can. It’s a totally different beast - Now I actually understand the nuances of sentence structure and have a much larger vocabulary, instead of just knowing a few key words. It’s a fun exercise.
The question wasn’t “How long until you learned the language” but instead was “How long until you can watch an episode without subtitles”. I think there’s a huge difference there. Shows that are mostly action and lack a lot of exposition will mostly have simple dialog, and you don’t need to have a grasp on sentence structure or have a huge vocabulary when you can just recognize a few key words and get a general understanding.
I know you meant that this could escalate to a long war that your child may eventually be drafted into, but my initial mental image was a battalion of toddlers each carrying a Fisher Price branded “Baby’s First Assault Rifle”.
I’ve been using the same anime torrent site for 22 years. Gonna be a sad day if it finally closes down as a result of these crackdowns.
7" non-OLED screen is a hard no from me, regardless of everything else.
For portable use I love this keyboard: https://a.co/d/a1s6Slt
It’s not the best option if you’re just using it at home, though.
