Legit.
I’m interested in many things and I’m always side tracked by more things.
Legit.
I like mixing it up, even mid conversation, between Threema, Signal and Session. Put the puzzle together feds xD
To be honest, you may have a point. I can’t think of anything demanding thats within 1 city block from it. A school, some medical places and a gas station is pretty much the only things along it.
Poor planning, could’ve been better spent.
Work harder, play harder. Isn’t that the American way?
I mean, it’s a big comfort thing too. I have zero interest in walking or using public transport in negative temps or 80+ degree weather. I enjoy not struggling to survive a trip.
There is actually a bigger city that spent in the ball park of 500k putting in a miles of a walking/bike path, less then 10 people showed up for it’s “grand opening” and it’s so unused there isn’t even trash or homeless camps. It was dubbed a waste of money.
But I’m not too interested in walking place to place in negative degree or triple degree weather or paying thousands of dollars every year for a rental. Maybe if they made rentals more affordable, it’d make more sense for more people.
I’ll continue to pay extra for a large truck. Handling, strength, towing, hauling. I’m positive I’ll get mostly downvotes but it doesn’t make a difference, I’ll still be driving my truck dozens of miles commuting every day! 9-12 MPG, pure diesel baby!
I’m in a very small town, we only have a bar. $100/mo for 500mb/s up and down, at least I actually get that though. Rarely is it less, but they also hooked us all up with fiber when they ran the fiber thru the center of the city. Price is also largely because they are literally the only internet provider unless you go with satellite – which I was considering but with the weather here…probably not ideal.
I only use Windows because I have no other choice for work, otherwise I only run linux. I fully believe the average user could easily switch to linux but it’s just not worth their time normally.
There are ways around this, just follow the “How to Disable Web Search on Windows 11 via the Registry” section (unless you have Pro the first part should work). So much better without them there.
I’m gonna give that a try and see, before I spend time making an account. Thanks for the recommendation!
Yeah, I think that’s what I’m gonna do. I wanna try it out, I haven’t used any popular social network in years though.
Is there a need to have a lemmy and Mastodon?
Yes, and it would still not require “any kind of technical expertise.”. That doesn’t mean the battery replacement process couldn’t include replacing gaskets, screws, tape during the process to ensure a safe and functional device since it’s still being opened. They may even sell it as a kit?
There is still so much left vague or not even mentioned, I just wish it was better off the bat. Of course, as mentioned it’s a step in the right direction but there are holes that could be filled before people get screwed over.
What makes you think it’s “just to read announcement”. The initial post didn’t even mention announcements, nor was it the purpose of the discord. Yet that’s all you can seem to hold on to. It’s already been stated there was miscommunication on one announcement and that was that.
Do you see the issue now or do you need help?
This doesn’t even make sense because it appears you didn’t even read the original discord post or even have an understanding about it.
A) It’s not a requirement to join discord, and never was made to be.
B) Discord is of itself a community communication platform for IM.
C) Millions of people actively use discord, it’s a popular platform and easier then others like Matrix. If it was something I didn’t already use, I would’ve never joined.
Your message is filled with incorrect assumptions and it appears your unwilling to go find the answers that are even on the same page as these comments. It’s very surprising with the internet nowadays and people can’t even seem to find information that is right in front of them, yet they act like they already have the facts.
Why would I be active in the DC when its supposedly purpose was announcements about the site and whenever this site is down?
Could you please clarify your source, the discord post as OP mentioned doesn’t read that. Lemmy.world announced their Discord server. And if you looked around the main purpose isn’t focused around announcements. It seems there was miscommunication and it wasn’t posted to lemmy, mistakes happen.
“Why would you assume/expect people join in a DC server to interact?”
That is sort of the point of Discord as a instant message community platform.
I joined the discord because:
Why did you join?
I’m assuming the reason would’ve been trolling. Considering the bottom of this is all you did and didn’t put a statement like “I don’t agree with this channel, I think it’s uncalled for” etc etc. although even that I would put into !support@lemmy.world
Just tagged a channel and said clownery with no activity in the discord really. Just wanted to add the additional context here and figured a SS would help too.
Yes, with basic and common tools. Doesn’t mean they have to be of quality, cheap metal screws for example. Hopefully not the case but it’d be annoying.
For example if they opt for the screw method, over the pop-off back (which I’d prefer). There will be screws to remove, most likely a gasket to replace, tape or something that ensures the battery doesn’t move around etc.
Even with current battery replacements, there is more parts then just the battery during the replacement. And of course “without causing damage” except if you have to remove the back that is glass and knock it off the table, that’s a +1 for apple, same if you loose a tiny screw or something else that is 1/1000 chance but Apple still makes money.
To be honest, some may be to an extent but I’ve heard of issues. The last one, I don’t see how it can be address “add more parts needed, like seals, screws that strip too easily, that annoying sticky tape etc.”. Because they may take extra steps to ensure durability and integrity (mainly to just make more $$ from those doing it themselves.).
I also find it odd because for me at least in the US, it cost me less than $100 for a iPhone 13 Pro Max battery replacement after a little more than 1yr of use, primarily went out due to extreme cold weather. Is the problem more towards a lack of authorized repair locations or their pricing? I’m sincerely curious what is the root issue here.
I personally use FlorisBoard on Graphine OS and I’m quite happy with it. Been using it for over a month now, it did take a couple days to get used to it.
