The only thing I use AI for is generating character art for tabletop portraits and when the well is sufficiently poisoned I will probably go back to Pinterest.
Oh god, please don’t make me talk about myself.

Nintendo’s infamously protective of its IP, even to its obvious detriment. I know a lot of people who jumped on the nomoretendo bandwagon after AM2R got DMCA’d, because the smart and morally correct thing to do would have been to hire that person and pull his incredible talent into the next Metroid game, because they clearly had a lot of love and respect for the subject matter and the technical expertise to put it into action. It’s hard to overstate just how fucking good and polished that project was, virtually identical to the Fusion/Zero Mission engine, except in the ways it was more improved. It was certainly better than anything Nintendo had done with Metroid in quite a while.
It’s funny, I own a switch and I would have bought the game (and I probably will still if the technical and QoL issues get resolved) but I’m emulating it better than the hardware can run it right now.
I like it more, but I’m a fan of the more classic Zeldas. It’s good, but it’s marred by the same technical issues that plagued the LA remake, and the lack of some basic QoL features like a Quick Select or Favorites wheel is bringing it from ‘great’ to ‘good.’
My next board and all for the foreseeable future will be AMD. I’m only rocking a 13600K right now and I haven’t had any issues, but the last bios update I did specifically to get the first microcode update wiped my GPU drivers, and the gigabyte update platform installed Norton and some other network monitoring software without my consent.
Switched to Firefox in 2023 and it’s wild how much shit just works now.
I got it for travel and it really is a top notch portable gaming hub. Doubly so because emulation is really easy to set up and run through the frontend. I love being able to play Elden Ring on the go.
It makes a lot more sense if you reframe it as freedom for rich white landowners in the 1800s to not have to pay taxes to King George, not so much for the peons, paupers and slaves.
Started playing #BLUD, I’m only about ten minutes in because sleep got the better of me last night but it looks pretty good so far.
Seepage is one of those bands that just sticks in your brain. If you like the tongue-in-cheek of Zane’s angsty edgelord teen vibes, the developers also made a doomlike in the same universe, developed by and starting that character.
I actually really like the SNES game, it is objectively not great though. You can’t even save, so emulation is a must unless you can dedicate an 8-10 hour sitting to it.
Particularly that it switches between top-down outdoors and a pseudo-FPS indoors, and the claustrophobic interiors and darker music give it a lot of charm.
I think the seven seas be particularly fine this morning, arr.
What fucking red line?
But can it handle AAAA games?
After the Helldivers fiasco, I think it’s time to raise the plank and hoist the sails, Yarr.
And they’re probably carving themselves a nice bonus out of the tax write-off for the studio closure.
I mean, let’s not forget that the early consoles had their own pitfalls, a period of gaming that spawned tropes like ‘Nintendo Hard’ and ‘Guide Dang It’ in order to, among other things, pad out the length of what we would consider an otherwise barebones game, and to sell time on their hints and tips hotline. I do feel like there was less bullshit in the past, but it definitely still existed.
I mean, I’m not trying to play DA for shitty-ass Boeing here, but coincidences do happen. I’m certainly more likely to believe this death was a result of bad luck than the suicide from a guy who told his family, and I quote: “If anything happens, it’s not suicide.”
If I didn’t need to have a profile there for work I wouldn’t. I had two jobs that were kind enough to tell me when I asked that they immediately passed on me because my resume had no LinkedIn or Facebook, and I deleted my Facebook a year ago.
