I finally picked up Witcher 3 for like 4 bucks. Excited to start playing that. I also got Euro Truck Simulator because it was like 1.99 and seems like a chill space out game.

Your probably right, but short of going through and editing everything with nonsense (which could just be rolled back anyways) this at least provides me with some copium.
When I saw this news yesterday, it made me realize I hadn’t used Reddit almost at all since the purge last summer. I ran the PowerDelete tool last night to nuke my profile and then deleted my account this morning. 10 years of posts and comments gone but ill be damned if im going to let those posts stay and train AI to make this douche canoe any more money.
Im playing Skyrim again. I think ive finally got a mod pack that is stable enough to possibly get sorta close to maybe beating the game, hopefully. It only crashes once or twice an hour and I haven’t had to bust out the console commands yet. Wish me luck!
Some things that my company does:
Has someone watching you browse our site live. We can see everything you do in real time. All your searches, missclicks, mouse movements, etc. Only thing it cant see is credit card info.
Uses these live views to create a profile on you. Are you in the deep south and searched for something that could be “conservative”? Your now on our Conservative mailing list. Vise-versa as well, We have email marketing campaigns that are written to cater to demographics. For each email sales campaign we put out, there are about 8 varieties of those emails that are tailored to what we think you want.
Keep databases of all our customers and people who visit the site, with as much info as possible. IP, location, estimated salary, spending potential, whether or not you are more likely to click on our links. All kinds of info that isnt really protected in any meaningful way. Most of it is just on a Google Drive.
For our big spenders and repeat customers, we have a separate database that has even more personal info. The marketing manager has even gone so far as to look up Facebook and Linkden and whatnot on you and take whatever they can find. Family, friends, hobbies, jobs, anything that they think can be useful to sell more stuff. Again, none of this is really secured to well.
Im not in the marketing department of my job so theres probably a lot more that im not aware of. These are just a few things we do and im sure this is mild in comparison to bigger companies. My job is a small family business with like 10 people working there.
I’m a big fan of Firefox’s email mask feature. Not sure which update it was but recently it showed up when clicking on an email field. FF creates an email address for you and forwards any mail you get to your main email. It’s been great for signing up for random crap cus you can just delete the email mask “account” afterwards.
I’ll be humming that theme song for the next week. That’s one of those earworms that have been in rotation in my brain since I first heard it.
That little side-eye glance the dog gives as it walks past the camera person, Like “thanks for the help…”
Thanks for the links. I went to watch and he’s actually live right now playing some tetris. Dudes a machine.
I was forced to upgrade since i was still rocking a 3g phone and my area switched to 5g. The phone company gave me a free Pixel6 since it wasnt my choice to upgrade. Maybe if you hold out long enough you’ll just get a free upgrade. Though it was a double edge sword, since they tried to up my monthly bill since i was “upgraded” to “premium data”. I had to fight that and still ended up paying a few bucks more than previously, but better than what they tried to charge me.
I’m just going to leave this here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betteridge’s_law_of_headlines
“…and their principal, Asfendis, has vowed to raise awareness on campus of how to use new technologies responsibly.”
Surely all the teenage boys will understand, and only use the technology for wholesome purposes.
Ive had that theme song stuck in my for the past 4 or 5 days… it had finally stopped, and you had to go and type that. hums angerly
You can export from Chrome as a CSV file then import to Firefox.
Yeah i picked up quite a few tips for generating good AI porn in this article. Im still not sure if this was satire or not. it basically gives you step by step how to do this.
I don’t have any questions for you, really. I just wanted to say its nice to see a professional show up and drop some knowledge. That was one of my favorite things about about that other site, and its nice to see it start happening here too. Thanks for taking the time to write that!
Ive got thousands of hours in POE1 but stopped playing a couple years ago because it started to feel like a cluttered mess. There were so many league mechanics vying for your attention and interrupting the flow of the game it just became tiresome. I hope POE2 feels more cohesive without all the fluff of 50 different leagues. The trailers definitely got me jonesing to play again though.
Nova Drift is great! Easily one of my top played games.
Rogue likes usually have very little story getting in the way. Binding of Isaac, Slay the Spire, Nova Drift, Darkest Dungeon are a few of my top played. I also really enjoy the make your own adventure Creative Survival type games like Minecraft, Astoneer, Terraria, Starbound, Empyrion Galactic Survival etc. City builders, colony sims and Farming Sims are always a good choice too. Some of my favorites are Cities: Skylines, Banished, Timberborn, Forager, The Anno series, Stardew Valley. Then there’s the pure building games. I really enjoy just building stuff and testing my creations out with games like Scrap Mechanic, Instruments of Destruction, Main Assembly, Cosmoteer, Reassembly, Kerbal Space Progam (the first game, Id wait on the second until all the bugs are fixed). Hack and Slash ARPGs are always fun for turning the brain off and most of them dont have a ton of story, save for a few cut scenes here and there. Path of Exile, Torchlight, Diablo 1 and 2 (I don’t like 3 and 4 personally) Grimm Dawn, Cronichon, Fate, Last Epoch are some of my favorites.
My Boss noticed I had been down lately. She said “She was depressed once, then she started going out with friends once a week. That was 20 years ago and shes been cured since”. True story.
