The officeholder is additionally vested with the command authority over China’s nuclear arsenal.
Access to the nuclear arsenal seems like excessive power for a figurehead. Xi Jinping holds that office.
He might not have absolute power in the state but your comparison with a common employee is frankly laughable. He is the agenda setter for the highest tiers of Chinese Government, he has the power to appoint multiple executive positions and he is the supreme military leader. He’s not just a random cog in the machine like the grocery clerk, he has real, actual, abusable power and democratic systems must limit any person’s access to abusable power, even if you believe there hasn’t been abuse yet. The issue is not that, the issue is that some day, a person with ill intent might maneuver themselves into holding Xi Jinping’s office and abusing said power, hence the need for the newcomer’s terms to also be limited.
For the record, though, I think the fact that Xi has managed to remove his term limits is in and of itself an abuse of power, regardless of what else he has done.
It is not merely about doing a good job, it is about the ethics of power. Power corrupts, so the only reasonable recourse is to share it with as many people as possible and wield it for a limited amount of time. And it’s also about ethics, what gives one person the right to have power over others for a limitless amount of time?
Frankly, you seem like you’re about to argue for people just doing as they’re told and not worrying their pretty little heads with this, which is against any sane left wing ideals.
All European democracies have term limits too. Heck, even ancient civilizations had term limits, and disregarding those has always lead to worse outcomes for the common man.
A good indicator is not having the same leader for decades. Term limits are a democratic safeguard and China has mostly abolished them. That does not bode well.

It depends on your artist. Mine was very friendly and we were chatting about life and society when I got mine, he was fun to talk to. However, some artists prefer to work in silence, others might want you to talk but won’t themselves, it depends. Yup, there’s plenty of time to have fun if you don’t have to manage lil’ ones. Not saying people who want kids shouldn’t get them, but moreso that people who don’t necessarily want them and just see it as something people have to do should consider a childless lifestyle. I think your last paragraph encompasses the essence of what people hate about this decision. I haven’t seen any outrage at companies that have never celebrated Pride. On the other hand, having celebrated it before and then deciding not to - especially when the event was ready to go and just needed approval - well, imo that’s even more of a politically motivated decision than simply having Pride
I’m not saying it isn’t - but so is Pride. Why would you place a subculture celebration - Christmas (since not everyone celebrates), over another subculture’s celebration - Pride (which also isn’t celebrated by everyone)

The fact that business engage in Christmas celebrations instead of, say, Ramadan, is itself a political decision - it places value on Christmas over the celebrations of other religions.
I’m not saying there shouldn’t be Christmas events in games - quite contrary, I think having as many events from as many cultures would be a smart business decision and it would make a larger number of players happy. But the fact is it would be a double standard to be fine with that and not with Pride.
The issue is that under our current economic model consumption always has increase because revenue and growth for businesses is essential and CEOs are mandated by law to increase shareholder value as much as possible. While the number of people will and is decreasing, the ammount each individual will consume will have to rise so much as to increase overall despite the smaller number of consumers.
That, or the system, as it currently stands, will collapse - degrowth means recession and our society isn’t built to embrace recession yet.
Europe is facing population decline. Houses should get cheaper, not more expensive, and the fact that prices keep rising means that they are artificially inflated.
