(I’ve never used Arch, and really have no idea how true that is)

Yeah that wasn’t a great moment, but if you look at the context for that you’ll see that it wasn’t even talking about a black person. It was just an expletive, like saying “motherfucker” or “son of a bitch” etc.
Keep in mind that outside of USA the N word is not nearly as charged politically and racially as it is within the USA. And PDP is Swedish IIRC, not American.
Edit: my point is that his usage of that word - which AFAIK only happened once - is not indicative of his character. It’s just indicative that he was really angry at that moment and human brains for some reason use expletives in those cases.
Has nothing new has come up since 2017-2018?
I’ve skimmed the introduction, and it only seems to cite the same Fiverr incident from 2017. I think it only uses PDP to illustrate some point and attract readers, but I’d have to read the whole thing to be sure.
That’s not a claim to make without some evidence. There is a thing he did a long time ago on fiverr, and from my POV that does not reflect on his views at all. I can explain my reasoning if you want. Other than that incident, is there any other reason to suspect he’s a Nazi?
I have asked a few times why PDP deserves all the hate. The best answer I got is “look it up yourself”. I did, and the only things I found were many years old, and in each instance (of which there aren’t that many) he apologized publicly and acknowledged that things got out of hand. To me, his apologies seem sincere and genuine - none of that “I’m sorry I got caught” bullshit that actual scumbags are known for.
I don’t watch PewDiePie but he’s alright best I can tell. If I’ve missed something, please let me know what that is, and be specific because I genuinely can’t find it.
Yeah, maybe. I specifically said “better than if USA hadn’t joined”. I’m not convinced that the US bombing made Iran more likely to use a nuke compared to 2 days ago. Nor any other country, for that matter. But hell, as I keep saying, I might be totally wrong about that.
“The uploader has not made this video available in your country” :(
As an Israeli* it’s definitely going to turn out better for us than if USA hadn’t joined in. As for the rest of the world, and specifically USA… I fucking hate where everything is headed, but I think USA can easily win this.
* An Israeli who, much like many Americans, is stuck with a government of criminally insane psychopaths he voted against and protested against. I in no way support the actions of the current government.
It’s a good analogy (from my limited understanding, that really was how it was presented in Japan at the time… At least for a short while) but I dang hope it’s not an accurate one. The blunder of Pearl Harbor was eloquently put by this famous quote:
I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.
So the key question now is whether Iran was a sleeping giant with more resources to pull from, or if it’s really defeated now (or soon to be). I personally believe Iran can’t win a war against USA, but it’s not going down without a fight. I’m no authority on the matter though, I might be dead wrong.
There’s a line somewhere between “computers that teach you not to do that” and computers that prevent dire consequences when you make a human mistake. The “just don’t do that” policy is never enough. If there are no safeguards, at one point the mistake will be made.

Double edged sword. Applications asking if you want to save your stuff aren’t designed to annoy you, they’re designed to save you from the headache of losing your work.
But I can see why you’d want the power button to be a “stronger signal” than clicking Shut Down in some menu.
As a user, why should I care whether the distro I use uses systemd? I use Mint and I don’t remember having to interact with that kind of low-level nonsense. The distro maintainers can use whatever reasoning they want to pick these details.
there’s a pretty wild range there from fairly easy to make in a few hours to massive community effort over several decades
Neither. Internal politics in Israel threatened to break up the government, and starting a war with Iran was the easiest way to stop that. Can’t break up the government now, we’re in a state of emergency!
Bibi would sooner burn down all of Israel than step down from power.
Recently built a PC with an AMD GPU. Tried to figure out how to install AMD drivers, because Mint’s driver manager didn’t seem to offer anything like it would for nvidia… Turns out AMD drivers are just part of the Linux kernel and you don’t need to install them at all. Nice.
I did have one problem though - my hardware is too new and the kernel shipped with Mint doesn’t really support it yet. But it was surprisingly easy to install a newer kernel. And anyway for any PC that doesn’t use bleeding edge hardware, this would never be an issue.
<3 Mint and Linux
Honestly, I think it’s premature - Organic Maps isn’t down the drain yet. But I’m also not 100% up to date. You can see most of the context here and in the open letter linked within: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/organic-maps-open-letter/128851
There is literally a drawing app called procreate. Nothing about this joke is forced, it’s just a direct observation.
Every part of that is fine except not including the cable with the product. But I don’t think I ever got a new product with a USB-B connector that didn’t come with the cable.
To which I reiterate: outside of USA that word isn’t the same. It’s just another curseword among many.
