Oh I’m inclined to believe that, but even ignoring Chernobyl and similar situations, fact remains that nuclear waste would pile up and create another generation’s issues. Better than oil? Absolutely. But renewables are where I’ll place my bets for a better tomorrow now.

Also in both cases we need batteries, as nuclear isn’t quick to start or stop, and peaks or drops in usage need covering, so if I’d make one wish it’s advancement in battery tech.

The right time for nuclear power was decades ago, which could have offset our current carbon issues by a lot, but alas. Now is the time for solar+wind+batteries, it’s already cheaper in most places and a lot less dangerous if something goes wrong.

Yeah that would also mean they can take “viral” open source software that is currently hard to use in proprietary software because it requires everything that’s built on top of it to copy the licence, and instead “rewrite” it and bypass that licence.

So if this works one way, it’ll also work the other, and that will probably massively benefit the corporate asshats. I’m not a fan of copyright, but it’s a necessary evil to protect our freedom from big corpo.

I’d love a useful heads up display with things like navigation, search (as in, “where the fuck did I leave my keys, they should be in my field of view”, not “what’s the capital of italy”), and something like a dashcam, where you can retroactively playback the last X minutes if something happened, but otherwise it gets deleted automatically.

And nothing gets off the device without my consent of course.

I’m mostly experienced in c++ and python, but I would use a dictionary/map/associative array/whatever name you call it, where you put keypress/event/… as key, and a function with the result you want as value (as a first version, there’s other more specialised ways, but this will be enough for most cases).

If there’s a case/switch statement in gdscript (that’s what you’re using I think?), you could also look into that, though I think it’s likely just syntactic sugar for either what you’re already doing or what I suggested, but it might be easier to read, so there’s that.

Gdscript calls it match operator, and I think it works like your elif tree but just a bit cleaner and easier to read
