It’s always rational at a personal level. Everyone thinks they’re doing the right thing for some combination of themselves, their friends and their allies.

The only way to update the clock is to press Sync Clock button in the app. Fortunately there’s a workaround from HA but even so - I won’t buy another Samsung kitchen appliance. Bosch are the only good smart guys.

I bought the Samsung microwave specifically because it had wifi. (I’d have preferred ethernet but that doesn’t seem to exist for any kitchen appliances)

The boot drive filling up is REALLY annoying because on modern systems there’s no need for it to even BE a dedicated partition.

Even with encryption and BTRFS, boot can live in your root partiotion just fine. Only EFI needs a partition and that never fills up.

Distros need to change this default!

Just in case any Linux users see this: (and for my own convenience as I’ve just learned how to do it!)

sudo mount -t tmpfs -o size=10G tmpfs /wherever/blah/

It only uses as much RAM as the files actually consume, the size option is just an upper limit. Set Steam to record to the same directory. Add NoSwap to the -o (options) if you want to prevent any disk use.

Supermarket rapid chargers tend to be 50kW while the ones on motorways are jup to 400kW - 8 times as fast. Just something to know if thinking about long journeys.

Give Microtopia a look. It’s ant colony as a factory sim and it’s really quite good.

The only settings I ever change are Linux Native to Proton 9 because it’s just SO much better for games more than 5 minutes old.
