“If you were able to overlook a genocide and cast a vote for Harris, you already know how a conservative was able to overlook Trump’s extremism and vote for him.” – Historian Robin D.G. Kelley

A very good and valid reason to object. A lot of Arab governments and heads of state have no business existing, let alone being in power.
More like tributes so they aren’t turned into another Iraq or Syria or Yemen or Sudan or Libya
I have no objections. That’s what it is already called in Arabic.
Fun fact in Turkish it is called Gulf of Basra, after the city in Iraq.
Another fun fact: in the grand scheme of things, Persians and Iranians are relative late comers to the region during the Babylonian Era; and the Gulf already had previous Sumerian, Elamite and Akkadian names. Late is in relation to the history of the region but when compared with the history of other regions 3000 years ago is a long time ago. Turks are even later-comers only 1000 years ago. I say this because they can’t claim that they named it first.
Final fun fact: Persians don’t live on the north coast of the Gulf, not in significant numbers and not historically, only Arabs live on both coasts even on the Iranian side.
PS: I am sympathetic to Iran in their struggle against imperialism and Zionism, and believe they have a right to develop whatever means to defend themselves and deter aggression. This naming dispute though, is something else for me regardless of Trump’s intentions.
During the brief ceasefire that started in January of this year, Yemen halted all attacks on Israel and paused its blockade on Israeli ships and those heading to Israel. Yemen has proven that if the genocide and blockade stops they will stop.
It’s free and open source. Someone could always fork it. I have been using OO.o and LO for years now but lately found that OO is better overall.
I wonder if the same will happen to foreign video games.
I will continue to wait until games go on discount
Microsoft shouldn’t have killed Wordpad. Imagine if they updated it instead with docx compatibility.
Using Linux in the university back in 2004 helped make the jump to Linux at home and I have been using it for 20 years now.
I pretty much switched to the Steam Deck, but I still have a backlog of games on Xbox that I may end up with one or two last Xboxes if my Series S dies for any reason. Hopefully it lives long enough that I don’t have to get a new Xbox sometime in the future.
Xbox will stick around as a cheap entry point into Game Pass
Not after these price increases
Even though I stopped buying new games on Xbox for sometime now, numerous reasons to boycott Microsoft I’m sure you have yours too. There is still probably another Xbox console or two in my life due to the over 300 game digital library I have accumulated over three generations due to Xbox Live Gold and Microsoft Rewards.
Which would be considered a good gaming laptop?
No, the real victims are the children who were killed in a hospital or school bombing by the US. If the US is terminally weakened it may be less capable of bombing schools and hospitals halfway across the world.
I sure hope so and hope its takes Israel, and a number of Arab governments, down with it. As someone who used to believe in the myth I am bitter and disgusted by what the US really is and always has been.
This is an unpresidented act
Clang is a better C++ compiler than msvc, it generates faster binaries and can compile complex code that msvc errs on at least in my experience YMMV.
People in the Middle East aren’t generic and interchangeable. Jews from India or Iraq or Yemen or Ethiopia or Iran or Morocco or Tunisia are still foreign invaders and not indigenous to Palestine. Netanyahu is still European as are the majority of political leaders and every prime minister Israel had so far. The culture that dominated and still dominates Israel’s political and social life is a European culture that is foreign to Palestine and the region.
