11·5 months agoI’m a manager and I do not think like that at all. I want people with the right skillset who can do their job well without babysitting, and I strive to pay them as much I can with the budget.
It’s so fucking hard to find someone who’s not a fucking idiot that if I get one I’ll do everything I can to make sure they stay.
Cat Catch is the only one ive found to work properly. It looks a bit sketchy and isn’t very intuitive but it does work.

11·1 year agoWhilst I do believe the American people were sold a lie (I’m not American) I think the barrage of down votes and cheap shots being thrown at @AidsKitty are undeserved. They clearly have a different view point on certain things but all their comments are polite and express their views respectfully. Anyway that’s just how it looks to me 🤷

I’m a long time Linux user 20 years or so and have tried loads of distros in that time. Eventually I got fed up and settled on Mint for quite a few years, but about 6 months ago an old colleague told me about Zorin as he was impressed with how it felt ‘proper’ from a user perspective. I tried it and actually liked it so much I fully switched to it as my main OS. It’s got all the user friendliness for when you just want to use it for work tasks, but still everything else underneath for when you want to experiment etc.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Your washing machine could be sending 3.7 GB of data a day — LG washing machine owner disconnected his device from Wi-Fi after noticing excessive outgoing daily data traffic
2·2 years agoYou mentioned it was using Bluetooth to communicate with the actual machine so I’m assuming they are not directly connected to the internet in any way? If that’s correct then it’s just a case of understanding the Bluetooth comms which is probably some basic BLE stuff they put together by tweaking the sample code from the BLE chip manufacturer.

Well as you didn’t specify which kind of privacy then… well if I’m in a high up hotel room with a balcony I like to run out onto it naked and then have a wiggle and quickly run back inside. I call it ‘willying the world’
