Few of the maga folk I know here in MN are in disbelief of what the facists they voted for are doing, particularly in their own state. It’s all I can do not to rub their noses in it and say I told you so. But I already know they are still voting GOP in the midterms and 2028 regardless so it’s not like they’ve learned anything.

They tend to have a lot of personality, to put it mildly. Overestimating their natural grace and finding themselves in situations they aren’t equipped to get out of. Like our old ginger boy who would crawl on the roof for naps and then yowl until some came to rescue him cause he didn’t understand how to jump down. Or chewing a hole in the back of the couch and getting his fat ass stuck trying to crawl inside it.

Only reason I don’t have a pet right now is I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and spend 12 hours or more away a day so once you figure sleep time I would have at most 4-6 hours to spend with the pet. That’s just cruel in my opinion, as much as I’d love a fur companion right now.

While I understand the pushback against military drafts/service requirements, they also can be a net positive for a culture that applies them equally regardless of gender, class or ethnicity. You are significantly less likely to support war if your children or grandchildren could potentially get dragged into it. Want to the majority of wars? Make it a law that the heirs of the rich must serve in the infantry during wartime.

Rule one of fascism is never giving your opponent credit for actual actual victories unless they can be tainted.

This is all legit blow outs against their ideology and the money backing it. They can’t taint it meaningfully without overstepping or revealing how corrupt they are.

That’s just geographical politics. People raised in urban environments slant leftist because they are exposed to people living in preventable suffering and see how small acts at community level can meaningful improvements to the lives of less fortunate.

On the other side you have people raised in rural environments who either don’t regularly see the less fortunate suffering, or if they do it’s presented as self inflicted. The people suffering are lazy, unmotivated or just careless and splurge on recreation rather than requirements. Shows of wealth are common and celebrated while any form of charity is not targeted at local impoverished but rather somewhere abroad where no is going to see the result (all to often so it can be taken out of view and embezzled.) So youth raised in these environments slant right because they are being taught that anyone who works hard and commits themselves to living properly will get ahead, when the reality is everyone who is getting ahead is well connected and the hardest workers in the community are often the exploited working class who struggle to put meals on the table for their families.

The Republicans, with majority control of all three branches of government, have proven themselves inept, incompetent, irresponsible and generally incapable of successfully governing? Surely this is just a one time thing and not part of a continuing cycle that has repeated itself numerous times through the lifespans of the same voters who elected them! /s
