The switch of my power strip broke before any of my USB chargers by turning it on and off everyday. So I stopped turning it off/on and it wont break again, I prefer wasting cents of idle power than having to buy a new power strip each 6 months. Cheaper and easier.

IVPN imo, just because it offers reverse split tunneling, if you prefer having more countries to choose from you can use Proton.

Check out IVPN, I find the service very similar but they also offer reverse split tunneling (choosing what programs go through the VPN).
I love Mullvad but for some reason they refuse to add reverse split tunneling, so imo the only options are IVPN or Proton.
Reverse split tunneling gives you the ability of using the VPN only in the apps/programs you select.
Are you sure it was discontinued? Mullvad is not Mull.
