I’m still trying to learn it. Some of us have to learn it over and over. Wish me luck, gang.
Agreed. I think a better summary would be to say if that he tells you what he is going to do, it’s usually true. Everything else before and after that is usually a lie.

I think one problem with this is that there is only so much land/sea on earth. Once all available land is forested you have completely maxed out this option. Then when a tree dies and falls over most of its carbon begins to be released back into the atmosphere by decomposing organisms so you are reliant on another tree taking its place to maintain status quo. Same for any biological solution (algae dies/eaten -> carbon released).

I don’t think it’s that “three fifths” is the only bad part per se, it just gets referenced a lot because it is a really indefensible example of how enslaved people were considered less than a person. So much so that here it is codified as a fraction of a person. Very in your face sort of language.

The AirTag chirp is not that loud. Yes if you held it right to your ear canal it might be uncomfortable but the distance from neck collar to ear I wouldn’t worry about.

Fraud is a criminal charge and AirBnB’s arbitration clause is for civil disputes. Original commenter is saying police should be investigating this.

Well TIL, thanks for educating me.
Though it occurs to me that she was speaking with an American accent though so I’m not sure of saying she should pronounce it the British way.

I’ve played it for about 6 hours and so far it’s kind of meh. I’ll admit I’ve not made it to the full in deep desert with PVP and so forth so my opinion still might change. But the early game is kind of slow for my tastes and the script writing / story is just senseless video game tripe.
Also a side note is that so far the voice acting for the story stuff is pretty bad overall. My favorite so far was when you’re exploring a shipwreck and find a voice log from the crash and the speaker identifies herself as Ensign whoever. But she mispronounces ensign as “en-sine” which made me do this:

Totally agree. I only got it to play with friends who are into it but was hoping it would be good. The story / cutscenes are so incredibly cheesy to me. It’s almost a parody but the joke never quite lands.

It’s always the ones you’d most suspect.

MSNBC Recap of the situation.
Basically Musk attacked Trump on Twitter over the big bill. It’s been escalating rapidly with Musk insinuating Trump should be impeached and threatening to start a “centrist” political party and Trump threatening Elon’s government contracts.

If I had to guess, there are probably some valuable natural resources under the ice that are going to become more accessible with global warming. It’s a resource grab. Same thing as trying to get Ukraine’s minerals.
Edit: Yep I should have searched before I replied.

Moreover, Tails 6.15 removes firmware blobs for Broadcom’s aging BCM4301 and BCM4306 Wi-Fi chipsets. The project believes machines carrying those radios are already too old to boot current Tails images; nevertheless, users who see their wireless interface disappear are encouraged to report back.

You so absolutely nailed my feelings on it. I was really excited for BZ and it fell pretty flat for me. The extra time out of the water just felt so forced and unnatural to me. I was moderately excited by the big ice worm until I actually played and just found it to be a nuisance. I couldn’t get finished with the ice shelf soon enough.
Also, why is everything so much smaller in BZ? It’s THE OCEAN. It’s supposed to be huge. If anything it should be bigger than the first game. Anyways I agree I hope they learned.

I’m using an RTX 5800 with Nobara and although I can game fine I get multiple graphical bugs in the desktop (parts of windows not fully rendering, flashing artifacts when moving windows, and aliasing artifacts around fonts (yes I’m running the correct resolution). So Ulrich is right, it’s absolutely a problem even on newer hardware too.

Language isn’t always about logic. Discussing things in terms of male/female is fine in many contexts but is often done when discussing science or medical topics. Ex: the male pelvis has a different, narrower shape than the female pelvis. It’s also used in situations where people are deliberately ‘othering’ people. Watch any police bodycam footage and you’ll see that cops frequently say “male/female” when discussing non-police individuals.
In daily life, most people use men/women for non-scientific discourse. The women’s restroom. A group of men at the restaurant. Etc.
But here’s the thing. Male/female are used for any species (a male beetle), but man/woman are only used for humans.
Assholes like Tate push a twist in this dynamic so that men are called men but women are called females because it can be dehumanizing to women. When you say female you could be talking about an insect, but a man is human. It’s a succinct example of their philosophy. That’s why people consider it derogatory.

I’m a huge DRG fan but wasn’t interested in Survivor because that’s not the type of game I usually play. A friend bought it for me so I felt obligated to try and it and holy heck it is so much more fun than I thought it would be. It is my go-to game when I’m on my Steamdeck.

Every country in the world needs all the other countries more than all of the other countries need it. There’s just no real leverage, because we’re all interconnected; you can snip one country out, and it’ll slightly hurt everyone, but it’ll *wreck* the country that was snipped out.
This is just such an absolutely perfect summary. I wish we could American politicians to speak this clearly to explain why this is such a bad idea.
