Capitalism is a mistake.
Capitalism is a mistake.
It was being done by a Paradox-owned studio out of California, over whom Paradox likely had little day-to-day operational influence.
Nice!
Friendly reminder that the piracy of Nintendo games is not only always morally correct, but more importantly, it’s obligatory.
So this can get an anime but not Mikadono? Okay, Japan, I see how it is…but that doesn’t mean I have to like it…
Damn. Somehow what I expected to be a trash isekai…really isn’t. I think the big question going into next week is what we’re going to see from Ars now that
It seems like the death of Ars’s father is almost certainly being foreshadowed. Does that mean we’ll see Ars rely more on Licia, in addition to his retainers?
Sasuga Ain…I mean Ars-sama!
You use the word hapless, and I think it’s a great call out. In some ways, he reminds me of Ayase Yuu from “Mikadono 3-shimai wa angai, choroi” (a manga that I and a couple of other users are really enjoying in manga@ani.social that has a rather…clumsy MC). At the same time, Ars has a capable ensemble around him, and leveraging the cast to tell Ars’ story (i.e. not letting Ars alone lead the plot; see Overlord for an example of how this can be done) gets us moments like this. Really looking forward to seeing more Licia starting next week. Now to hope the light novels get licensed, as well!
Edit: The publisher (K Ranobe Books) does have a history of licensed light novels, so it’s not exactly a crazy idea.
I’d love to see the budgets for series like “A Place Further Than The Universe” that start out as anime, versus light novel adaptations like “KonoSuba” and “Madome”, or manga adaptations (e.g., “Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included”). The anime original series still have to make money, but because there’s not a source material to assist in recouping costs, one would intuitively assume there’s a bit of a higher standard there, no?
If I had to guess, I’d say never. The whole animator hiring model has been fucked for decades. The only thing that might break the camel’s back here is the yen getting obliterated in FX markets.
Love the thumbnail. Is that from Re-LIFE?
All the talk of Lalatina this, Lalatina that makes me hope even more that we get Vol. 12 adapted.
That is one of the lists of all time.
I will watch this one with great interest
Rikka, you’re a day late and a dollar short on this one.
Shaft
Ah, another loss. Shaft seem to be a consistent miss for me, with the sole exception of 3-Gatsu no Lion.
I think the third episode was where I really fell off. I think Madoka is unique in that I couldn’t bring myself to say it was bad, so I just left it as an unscored drop on my AniList, with the caveat that said drop isn’t exactly a statement about the show’s quality, but more that the show (and really most Shaft shows) just don’t strike my fancy. The lone exception as yet has been 3-Gatsu no Lion, which is absolutely fucking fantastic.
Well, the LNs are licensed by Yen Press assuming you want to acquire them either digitally or in physical form.
Side note: I could never get into Madoka no matter how many times I tried. I don’t know why, and I can’t hate the series, per se, but I just could not finish.
