  • Fallout 4 since the patch.

    Clean Install,

    New Game,

    No Mods,

It’s been crashing to desktop with no error message like crazy. It takes forever to load between instances (on an PCIe 4.0 M2 drive)

    It’s a complete flaky mess.

Even in game garbage like DeathClaws getting trapped in build geometry, character getting stuck on things accessing a computer, and other random Bethesda standard shit that you’d think they’d have fixed after all these years…

I couldn’t imagine the horse pile of shit problems this game would have running in Proton on SteamDeck. I’m not even going to bother trying to run it on the Steam Deck. It’s not even stable on a PC.

  • Its weird,

Because I have a developing conspiracy theory,

It was clear to everyone, Iran, Russia and China have been developing a kind of trinity semi-alliance. And India is/was kinda on the verge of joining it, and if I was some kind of US long term tactical guru sitting around all day around 2010, I would formulating a plan on how to break them up.

Maybe bait Russia into Ukraine… maybe bait Iran into Israel… maybe bait China into Taiwan?

Watch them drain their military resources and economies into the fight. Offload all of the US’s old equipment, maybe sell some new ones. Test detection capabilities, see how things have developed since the Gulf War, see how two modernized militaries clash.

Is this article right? Maybe. Is this article is just projecting? Perhaps.

Don’t know, but Russia wasting its time/resources and playing it’s hand in Ukraine has been net-positive for the US And I feel if Iran did the same, and Israel starting hitting back hard (with them already saying they wont’ be directly involved), then it’s a win again for the US.

But that could be playing with fire. The world is fucked if Israel lets off a nuclear device in Iran. Netanyahu is crazy enough to do it, if the people around him let him.

  • The earth generally has an overall fixed rate at which it can radiate heat into space.

We dig up millions of years of stored solar energy and release it as heat.

I really don’t understand why people are surprised. Sure, it can get really complicated as you factor in varying cloud cover, solar output, greenhouse effect.

But long-term trend, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that every joule of energy we pull out of stored carbon, or even mass->energy via nuclear. We are generating more heat now than the earth is used to radiating out.

So obviously the average temperature is going to increase.

Even if we find ways to store the energy back, it takes energy to do so, and therefore more waste heat in the end.

If we want to cool the planet, we have to increase the rate that we radiate heat out into space.
