I always wonder if celebrities / rich people have nice hobbies or if they’re always too busy doing other things to actually enjoy their wealth.

I’ve learned to be okay with alone-ness. Not sure that self-destruction is the better route, tbh.

I’ve had people bring up my completely legal, never-abused, responsibly used, doctor-prescribed medication out of “concern”, while my then-partner would down a couple 40s before noon and no one would fucking bat an eye.

Shit’s fucked. Alcoholism is so normalized and socially accepted that folks just treat it like a fun quirk.

Mine has a history of un-fun alcoholism, as well. Apparently it was used to self-medicate our other family history of depression. 🎉

I’d drink more if I had folks to go out with, but I’ve cut off a lotta people in the last few years.

It seems that social pressure to drink kind of doesn’t go away as you age, huh?

I only drink a couple times per year. I’m typically pretty introverted and quiet, but once I’ve had alcohol, people keep telling me that I’m so friendly and fun and how they’d like to have some drinks with me again.

Yeeeah, I found myself single again after a divorce, and I have not even tried to date seriously after seeing what’s currently on the market.

Folks out here thinking that dating is a replacement for some much-needed therapy.

Thank you. She’s an incredibly talented writer and ridiculously creative, thoughtful, & kind. She was only just starting to live her life independently, and it was ripped away from her with the diagnosis.

We need to advocate for those who struggle to / are unable to do so for themselves.

My little niece just turned 19. Weeks before her birthday, she was diagnosed with cancer and is currently going through chemo.

These people can go to hell if they think they can put her even more at risk because of whatever shitty agenda they’re pushing.

He was an exotic shorthair tabby who was given to a shelter because he didn’t look f×cked up enough. He was adopted but the owner got a younger, more playful cat, so they put him on Craigslist where I found him.

His shelter name was “Luigi”, but when I saw him, I immediately changed it to “Waluigi”. It fit him so perfectly.

He snorted when he got excited and looked angry all the time, despite being the friendliest gremlin you’d ever meet. He loved all creatures of different species and nothing frightened him. He made me laugh every single day.

He stayed away completely from people-food, with two notable exceptions: ranch dressing and Taco Bell. I still don’t fully trust either, tbh.

I loved him so much. Still miss him every single day. Not sure I’ll ever find such a wonderful cat ever again.
