Well this looks awesome.
Well this looks awesome.
Wait, so you watched the first half of episode one, then the very end of the final episode of season 1 and you’re judging the show based off that? Wow. Firstly, that’s a terrible way to watch shows. You have no idea what it’s even about and you’re calling it disgusting and wondering why people like it.
The entire concept of the show is that the main character is completely unhinged and totally believes in his 8th grade delusions, then dies and gets sent to another world where all of his delusions keep actually happening, but now he thinks his “friends” are just really cool and playing along with him. He’s massively overpowered and that’s explained in all of the content that you didn’t watch.
The main character has absolutely zero interest in romance. He may have a bunch of girls vying for him, but I don’t consider this a harem anime. All he cares about is living out all his OP character fantasies.
The first episode is played 100% straight, and the last episode is a big final fight wrapping up this entire plot that he’s gotten himself tangled in. But he’s literally just toying with the two women he’s fighting, they aren’t anywhere near his level. Anyone who actually watched the show understands that. You picked two of the most serious moments of the show to watch and are wondering why it’s not funny.
I’m not saying you have to like it, but not watching a show but then calling it out for being “discusting” is a weird thing to do.
I enjoyed season 1 of this. It wasn’t amazing, but it was fun. Happy to have a season 2.
What? How is it disgusting? Eminence is fantastic.
It really is, I’m just nitpicking when I point out things that could be done better. I’m stoked about this series and have been recommending it to all my simracing teammates.
I really need to check out The Apothecary Diaries. I keep hearing good things.
Alright this was my favorite episode yet. I love Suzuka so seeing it accurately represented was great. As for the racing accuracy, everything they were saying was correct, but the visual depiction of wet weather tires vs slicks was pretty lacking.
If the track was really that wet at the start of the race, that 3rd place car on wets should have easily gotten past the two Belsorisso drivers. Like, maybe even before the esses. Having them all stay in line for the entire first lap was a little immersion breaking. When it’s wet out you tend to get drivers going all over the track hunting for any extra grip they can find, and drivers on slicks will be spinning their rears on corner exit constantly.
That said, everything else was great. I loved the detail about drivers on wets pulling off the line to cool their tires in the wet parts of the track.
The story this episode was great. I like that Kouya’s trauma wasn’t so easy to overcome and that he still has a lot to work through. And for some fun trivia, it’s fitting that the episode after they talk about Hunt and Lauda, Haruka retires from a wet weather race. In the 1976 season’s final race, Lauda retired from the Japanese GP because of how terrible the weather was, giving Hunt the championship.
Can’t wait to see where we go with this next week!
The new character designs are much closer to the original designs from the light novel. She’s supposed to look fairly young. Iirc she’s described as looking like a teenager.
Can’t wait for this. The animation looks pretty good, I was worried about that after watching A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special this season.
Same. Hopefully they adapt the entire series
Spectrum? I’ve got the same plan. Sucks because I have trouble streaming my Plex server outside of my apartment. And when I work from home uploads take forever.
Another solid episode this week. I figured it was something like that with the Prince, but it’s interesting to hear that they don’t think that the Saint can heal people. That’s like the first direction my mind goes when I think of a Saint in fantasy terms.
Is this a reputable brand? Never heard of them before. I’m thinking about replacing my 10" Kindle Fire because it lags a bit and struggles with the Crunchyroll app. I mostly use it for reading manga, and it’s great for that, but I’d like to be able to watch shows without any hiccups too. Wonder if the 11" of these would be a good replacement.
The only downside to using Firefox on Android is that Google search results can take forever to load unless you clear site cookies. And Google Image search is awful.
However that’s all fixed if you use Duck Duck Go instead.
The GPD Win isn’t really the same as these though. It’s trying to provide the most gaming performance possible in a tiny package. It’s a premium device, rather than a tiny, budget oriented laptop.
Makes perfect sense that Hunt is his idol lol.
For anyone watching this show that hasn’t seen it, I highly recommend the movie Rush. It’s all about Hunt and Lauda’s rivalry and Lauda’s wreck/recovery. It’s fantastic.
Finally able to sit down and watch this week’s episode. This was my favorite episode yet. The animation style choice for showing his dad’s wreck was great. And Kouya’s backstory was tragic. I figured it was something like that. You see it all the time in the comments for tragic photos. “Why didn’t they help?” is such a common sentiment, but in reality there usually isn’t anything a photographer could have done to help in those situations. I definitely feel for him there.
Loved the ending scene with Haruka talking to his father, and I can’t wait for him to win a race now. Can’t wait for next week!
The “Bunny Girl Senpai” is just the title for the first book. The LN series is “Rascal Does Not Dream” followed by whatever the book is about. Like “Knapsack Kid” for this movie. For the anime they just stuck with the title of the first book.
And they do sort of explain it right away when they talk about “puberty syndrome” or whatever it’s called. The entire series is about resolving supernatural phenomena happening around different characters.
Got mine right after it released and I get the notification. As far as I remember I’ve always gotten it. But it doesn’t appear on your phone, just on the watch.
I’m so worried that this adaptation is gonna be terrible, but the light novels are fantastic.
