I use browser add ons to have the comments moved the right panel. I enjoy reading comments during the video and I don’t want to have to scroll away from the video to read them. This design just makes sense to me.

I found YouTube impossible to use without it

I use a browser extension that is called “Comments Sidebar for YouTube”. It just puts the comments along the side instead of under the video so I can scroll through them without leaving the video. I think YouTube used to do this? I remember finding this extension to replace that function.
