10·5 days agoYou know, I don’t particularly care about having the need to see every freaking pore on someone’s model. I hate graphic purists.

4·7 days agoUnfortunately, you’re not the demographic the industry is looking for. What they want now is obedient, but expendable staff who’ll only be on long enough to see a project done. Then you’re discarded. The other pocket of people they’d want is, you know what type.
You’re better of being your own independent video game worker.

58·8 days agoThis whole industry is job security hell. Man, people decades ago dreamed of being somewhere in the industry. I don’t really know now who’d want to be in it knowing how awful job security even is.

Games@lemmy.world•Despite Steam's concerning domination over the market, one of the things that I love about it is the ability to continually comment on other people's Steam reviews.English
1·9 days agoI hate how steam reviews have turned into yet more soapboxes to get political over than reviewing the games themselves.
Why should I care about how you feel about a publisher when you reviewed one of their older games just to project your opinion?

1·9 days agoSame. Especially after I’ve had shithead trolls from Steam Forums shit all over my reviews to where I went through the process of tediously re-posting 120 reviews. Yeah, real pieces of work the people are in those forums.

42·10 days agoThis is what Linux doesn’t need.
I got an honest chuckle out of it. But yeah, it really sucks for people surfing the net today and within the past 10 years. People like me who’ve been around for 30+ years, just sulk in depression for the state its become, remembering simpler days.

Technology@lemmy.world•BBC: “It shouldn’t have taken a lawsuit for Meta to implement safety measures, whistleblower says”English
6·13 days agoIt’s how I feel deeply about social media’s existence. Facebook, Reddit, MySpace, Twitter .etc weren’t ‘evil’ just for simply being made and standing on its own. It needed fuel and that fuel is in the form of the many thousands to millions of people who’ve used them for years.
And those same people have turned around and now put blame on said social media sites for how bad they’ve become. Never caring to realize that they majorly were built that way off the behaviors of what people did and continue to do on there.

Technology@lemmy.world•New Twitter launches, says Musk's X gave up the nameEnglish
32·13 days agoThese guys are a bunch of morons. All of the comments here are proving as to why.
- Associates with AI
- Wants money to use it
- Doesn’t factor that Twitter might not entirely be available after all
- Uses Musk’s other imprints, like Grok, on it which may subject them to fail
- More centralized social media is not what we need
I’ll give it a few months before they actually are sued into oblivion, to which they’ll have the biggest pikachu shocked faces possible.

Technology@lemmy.world•Meta agrees to pay up to $17.1bn to settle claims its platforms harm childrenEnglish
101·14 days agoMeta maintained throughout the brief trial that it had worked extensively over the years to make its platforms safer for its youngest users, pouring resources into testing and research, and building new features.
No, you’ve made it a pain in the ass process to delete a facebook account. I’ve counted, you have to go through almost 5 prompts to finally delete an account. It’s simpler on mobile, by about 2 extra steps shorter, but that indicates that no, you did not work extensively to make it safe if you can’t make deleting easier.

251·15 days agoI think PeerTube should be for hobby purposes. I mean, here’s where I am coming from. I am from a period of the internet, where you were not meant to be e-famous. I still at times, believe this. Look at what happened when the idea of the tiniest bit of fame and success people allow to get to their heads when they realize that they can just make videos and profit off of them.
