  • 49% of Americans didn’t vote for this. 49% of those that voted in 2024 technically voted for this whether they were aware or not. Only about 62% of the population voted in 2024 so including those that voted third party, realistically only about 20% - 30% voted for this. And that doesn’t include those that voted based on things like affordability without realizing the choice they were actually making. Add those that regret their vote and you have a very small percentage of people that actually voted for this specific outcome. Sure you can look at polls but those only account for people that were interested in participating in polls, which MAGA loves to be vocal about their opinion.

In my opinion, they are trying to make us feel isolated and alone when in fact we are literally surrounded by people that are on your side. They’ll say “you voted for this” in the same way an abuser says “you did this to yourself.”

    Edit: Spelling

  • What’s crazy is that they aren’t just doing this because they make more money with AI. They’re doing this because these AI companies have basically pre-ordered a fuck ton of components that have not been manufactured yet to be put into computers that haven’t even been made yet for datacenters that are not even built yet all on an electrical grid that hasn’t caught up. As long as the manufacturers get paid they don’t really give a shit, but this is so unsustainable it would be hilarious if it weren’t so catastrophic for the rest of us. And as long as the line goes up as they all circle jerk their money around they’ll all be happy and can pretend the economy is good.

  • I feel like this would be a great countermeasure to AI psychosis. The way it is now you can’t really determine what methods it uses to communicate or it’s intentions so it keeps the illusion of having a conversation with a person. If you had to choose from the beginning it would break that illusion immediately. Even if you specifically want it to always be on your side there will always be the nagging feeling of “well yeah but it has to be nice to me.”

  • Nobody in the AI industry, tech, or government cares. He says all the buzzwords and gives them all what they want. What he says is basically irrelevant at this point. Until something actually happens we’re all gonna read about some sort of “gotcha” moment every day as if it makes a difference so we can have our rage moments and move on after we get our dopamine hit by calling him a moron.

Not talking shit on anyone here, I’m just tired. And I’m tired of seeing a similar headline day after day as if it changes anything.
