It’s a consistent issue for Microsoft releases. You would think a company that sells cloud services would be capable of having a smooth launch.
I can’t disagree with point 1 or 2. My biggest issue with Sony releasing games on PC has been recent. Trying to force their login is stupid. It doesn’t work for people not in their target regions. I’m not one of those affected people. I would also prefer if they would reduce the delay porting from console, but at least the ports are usually well done.
I’ll be honest, I was in favor of Microsoft acquiring ActiBlizzKing. I didn’t have faith in the existing leadership and Microsoft has mostly taken a hands off approach with its developers. Since the acquisition, things have been mostly OK, at least on the Blizzard side. The biggest issue I have seen has been increased monetization, especially for WoW and D4. Not game ruining, but concerning.
For this acquisition, FROM doesn’t appear to have management issues. I also do not like the direction Sony has been taking things, especially with their PC releases. They are also the market leader on Consoles, so I do not see this as required to stay competitive.
This feels way too expensive for what is a dumbed down device. Maybe $50-$100, but you would still end up paying quite a bit for something that requires a subscription.
For the price they are asking, you could get a desktop with OK performance that will be free forever after that.
I’m excited to try this. I am waiting for reviews of how it runs on Linux and a small discount before I pick it up.
Sony is already beating MS. We do not need more consolidation of companies.
Please no.
I think it will be difficult. They may be the largest competitor to Windows, but still just a small market share.
I do think it’s funny when people hate the way Microsoft has directed Windows when Apple is way worse.
No more acquisitions. They are large enough with all of the studios that they have bought. If they can’t compete at their current size, then they deserve to fail.
Battle.net games run well on Linux in general. The only issues I usually have is with their client itself.
I think the cost of WoW has been fairly reasonable over the last 20 years. The subscription has stayed the same price of $15 per month the whole time, and if you know you are going to play WoW for the whole year, it is just $13 per month with an annual sub. The only thing that has gone up in price is the expansions which have gone from $40 to $50.
I think another point that you are missing is that WoW players often spend most of their game time playing WoW, which means they spend less on buying other games.
I bought the PS4 Pro as well, because it didn’t feel like a bad value. It felt like a mid gen refresh where we got some extra power for no extra cost. Sony thinks players care about the extra performance for another $200, which is ridiculous. Up until this generation, consoles got cheaper over time as they become cheaper to produce. This is the first generation (that I remember) where the cost has stayed the same/gone up.
I fully agree that at $500, this would be a no-brainer for those wanting the extra power. A $350 base console would be a good pairing.
Having the option would be best. If you are trying to save on data or have a slow connection, a lower red image might be preferred.
I think it will be common enough that they can easily access an auction house when they need it in the world. They may also introduce another one in the future, but at a higher price.
Makes sense to continue the support since these components may be reused in other systems.
The thing is, they won’t be able to sell a Mount like this again in the future. This is kind of a “break glass” type of situation.
It’s going to sell like crazy. It’s not just that it’s a Mount, but it also has an auction house and mailbox that you can use anywhere at any time. The only other mount that has the AH is no longer attainable regularly, only on rare occasions for gold cap.
I am going to get it, but I’m going to use my gold in game to convert to bnet balance.
Those chocolate peanut butter cups are crack. I’m sad that people at my location have realized that, because they are sold out a third of the time.
+1 Loved every time I learned a new mechanic through the game.
