What I do is start a micro web server with Python on a termux terminal, if you don’t have root on said device you’ll be stuck in the /data/data/com.termux/files/ but its still enough to save files with Firefox to said directory on the files/home/ I believe? (export or share to termux and you’ll be taken to termux on the aforementioned directory, where you can always pwd to know where you are) however if you do have root you’ll be able to literally start the mini web server on the / or any folder you like. And then on your laptop you browse to the IP of the phone and the custom port, which if its hotspot you can also find via termux or tends to be 172.20.10.1 or something mundane depending on your carrier.

TBH using Bottles to run an exe feels more refined than the epic games UI.

I have a X220 and a T14 Gen 2 (11th gen Intel core) and the quality is night and day. Also they introduced cheaper models like an E series, the L series and those have even worse materials or QC.

I feel it started before and it was like that before covid. I’m gen Z and I remember around 2017 the rise of popularity of songs about “me me me being the #1 gang banger the gangster, them bitches love me, them ni**as hating” among the people in my age group, and it sorta just grew from there.

What I noticed during covid and once TikTok style videos became mainstream was sort of a “normalization” or acceptance of the phenomena mentioned above.

I’m a SysAdmin and I’ve met several ‘coders’ who went thru a coding bootcamp, or even went to college and don’t know about git, less alone how to use it… kinda makes me sad.

I’ve exported computer parts before and you’d be surprised that the way to declare them is not: “gaming PC” or “Macbook air 13"” in the customs form but more like “Data processing machines” and if you were to ship a motherboard, it has to be declared as “Data Processing Machine Parts” or whatever it is, with a totally different code and classification, same thing for memory devices, for CPUs and even for storage devices.

So yeah, I have a feeling they won’t even bother covering all the angles and just allow assembled computers, phones (since the US made iPhone is impossible at this point) and “chips” whatever they decide classifies as a chip.
