Nah, the way Microsoft and Edge work still enrages me. I just use both Chrome and Firefox atm, with Chrome behind my VPN and Firefox split tunneled. I’m still on 10, but when I have the freedom to do so I’m going to switch to Linux. I can’t just up and do it at the moment because I work through my computer and also game through it, so I need to have a ton of things ensured workable before I switch. That requires time and testing, and in an ideal environment a second system to run in parallel, which I cannot do atm.

I’ve heard our work may be purchasing work laptops for us, so I might be able to do my switch then.

  • Well, it’s not only that, a lot of people are wearing costumes, that may or may not cause them to sweat far more than their normal day. A friend of mine wore a costume that involved a dress shirt and a coat, and Sept isn’t really cold in GA. He used menthol to cover for his sweat though, so it wasn’t too bad with him. My last costume (several years ago, I dunno where all the stuff is and can’t afford to remake atm) involved dress shirt, a vest, and a heavy coat (trying to emulate this character) and it was hot as hell, especially in lines outside in the sun.

Even with baths and deodorant for some people in such situations it’s not really enough.

  • I pointed it out to someone in the car with me and my face probably had a smile, as I joked about how pictures don’t do it service how ugly/odd it looked in person. Then we switched back to whatever topic we were talking about.

Some people like odd shapes, some people make fun of it, some don’t care. There are plenty of things I’d never drive but might like to look at, some in appreciation, some in mockery.

My main issues with Teslas are company and owner issues. Issues with cutting corners, his involvement with manipulating governments for Lithium, and the wild way he hires and fires people due to ego (reportedly fired entire Supercharger group because lead wouldn’t do anymore layoffs, and is desperately trying to rehire talent).

I can discuss all that stuff with people without a scowl on my face, because I’m laughing at such dumb decisions. I don’t have any personal opinions about you really, other that you either don’t know that stuff or don’t care. I might make judgements if I confirmed you knew all that and still went for it, or if I knew you simped for him, but I couldn’t make that call just seeing one out on the street.

  • Being a support person, if I was rich enough to frivolously buy systems, I’d have at least one of each as a reference system. Yes, I know, vms, but that’s for saving money/space. Especially MAC I’d have some hardware too. Definitely not a main system though. I currently have a broken Mac and a cheap chromebook for that reason, though due to being broken the Mac is rather useless now. When it worked I often used it to help test/troubleshooting customer stuff.

  • People speak weird all the time, and LLMs are trained on people. Some aren’t native speakers, some just like to omit verbs, nouns, or tenses when it seems obvious and they want to be expedient, some just do it for fun or laziness (see, l33t speak and or early texting, typos).

LLMs are trained on human input, so of course it on occasion uses our bad habits. Thinking like your comment suggests is what gets people who really wrote their own stuff in trouble, because people think they can identify stuff like this more than they actually can.
