It’d frankly be dead cheap for a billionaire to setup and run a progressive newspaper and/or fund a hundred YouTube progressives and progressive politicians.
Heck, they could setup and operate a general union fund and support union campaigns and union relief funds. They could indefinitely support striking workforce. Doing that just once would completely change how companies interact with unions.
They don’t have the votes to pass a law, they do have the votes to stop laws from being passed. Further, the Republicans just killed a rule that allows 30 senators to block all bills by challenging executive decisions. The Republicans killed the rule to roll back a Biden admin decision to allow California stricter emission standards. Every challenge requires a mandatory 10h of debate. There are about 100 years worth of Trump admin decisions Dems can challenge to block the upcoming budget bill.
Will they do that? Probably not, because they rolled over on the CR when they could have easily filibustered it.
And yes, Schumer knows about this, he wrote an open letter warning Republicans not kill the rule.

The thing about genetics is you can make reasonable predictions about individuals if you have data on their relatives. Heck, you can reasonably make regional predictions with genetic data that will be fairly accurate.
If any of your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, etc took this test, then you are now at least a little exposed.

The reason was simple. It’s information that once a private company gets a hold of it, they will use it to hurt you. Whether it’s a drug company that learns you’re predisposed to addiction, so better to give you it people around you nice temporary discounts on addictive meds, or an insurance company that learns you’re predisposed to cancer, so better to look for ways to deny or drop coverage.
Once these companies know a little bit about your nature, they’ll exploit any aspect possible to increase profits.

Also do note that rather than addressing my challenge, you proved my point. Harris had identical Gaza policies to Biden and the only reason to vote for her was the fact that there were some pro Palestinian Democrats. You vote for her not because she’s better in Gaza, but out of the hope that members of her caucus could moderate her position.

Israel started the genocide early after Oct 7, it’s not escalated. They’re already leveled over 80% of Gaza and destroyed every hospital and piece of infrastructure under Biden.

Biden’s and by extension Kamala’s Israel policy was functionally identical to Trump’s. The atrocities happening under Trump were happening under Biden. The only thing that’s changed is now that Trump is in charge it’s become acceptable for left leaning media to criticize that policy. Under Biden, outlets like MSNBC literally fired everyone with even an incling of pro Palestinian rhetoric. They framed genocide protestors as antisemites.
And it wasn’t just Biden. Practically the entire DNC was 100% behind Israel.
The people protesting had friends and family killed by US muntins that the Biden admin never even hinted at threatening to reduce, even after Israel doing things like murdering aid workers. Even after blowing past every single “red line”.
Go watch Antony Blinken talk about Israel. It’s disgusting, but there really was no difference in rhetoric between him and the current Trump admin.
You don’t understand the protest vote because, like Biden, you didn’t look into or care about the protesters until it became something you could use to bitch about Trump or voters that didn’t do what you wanted.

Often, some of the dumbest people in the company. Unless the CEO literally founded the company, chances are really high that they are a know nothing nepotism hire. Their only skill was being born to a rich and well connected family.
I really wish people would stop idolizing business leaders as ideal government leaders.
The principles that make a good business are fundamentally different and often in conflict with good government leadership.
A business would say “oh that rural farming community? let’s ignore them. They’ll never make up more than a tiny fraction of our profits”.
A good government, on the other hand says “oh that rural farming community is the breadbasket for the population. Let’s keep them happy so the people in the cities can continue to eat cheap produce”.
And this doesn’t even touch the corruption aspect. A business leader won’t likely have the morals to properly regulate their own business.

And, to be clear, 2019 was under the trump admin. I can’t stress enough how crystal clear and dire someone’s case would have had to have been for Trump’s immigration judges to grant asylum. They were giving that out to basically nobody during his first term. Except for I guess this guy.
