But even if EVERY Helldivers 2 sale were affected, of the 1.85 BILLION estimated PC gamers in the world, we would be looking at around 0.6% people affected. It’s a tiny sliver, despite Helldivers having over 12 million sales (and that’s both PC and console).

The fact of the matter is this doesn’t mean shit in the grand scheme, and most people have likely never even heard of the game still even with the controversy. The industry is unfathomably massive and one game is tiny, even one with 12+ million sales.

All games like this have massive daily player drop offs a few months after release.

To be honest despite the publicity, most players don’t actually give a shit. Most players don’t read gaming news. And many players don’t care, either because they already have a PSN account, or they just don’t care about making another account to play the game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if over half the players had never even heard of the PSN controversy at all. The SteamDB player chart actually indicates when those shenanigans were compared to player numbers, and the daily player numbers had already been declining at that same pace for a month up to that point and continued at about the same rate after.

No one is wanting to read these messages like they’re 50 Shades of Grey or anything like that. Well, there’s probably somebody but that’s not why most want to see it. Clearly it was not bad enough to get the police involved at the time, so we’re talking less than To Catch A Predator.

Ignoring the age difference for a second, because that part is not relevant to my specific point here… What some people consider flirty, others consider creepy. On a similar note, the same comment coming from a person someone considers attractive and from someone they find ugly often has a completely different reaction.

Doc says that it crossed a line, that’s not under debate by anyone at this point. He says there were no pictures, etc. exchanged, just messages and there was no intent to meet up or anything like that. On the other side one of the original tweets claimed they were sexting. Peoples definitions of sexting can vary dramatically as well.

So clearly the messages went over the line of being inappropriate, no argument there from anyone paying attention, but how far over that line was it? Were they truly explicit messages, or just inappropriate within the context of a 35 year old talking to a minor?

At this point I’m more angry at article writers that don’t include screenshots of the things they’re writing articles about than I am at the issues they’re writing about.

A decent amount of the time once the issue is in a bit of context, my reaction is vastly different than what the writer was trying to get me to feel.

I wish there was a way to easily mark or denote articles written by certain authors when loading a page (especially across sites since many of these people write for multiple places) so I don’t waste my time reading things from people I’ve found to have irresponsible or questionable reporting.

It’s an officially recognized spec, so Apple will ignore it as long as they can. Until they can find a way to make money from it or spin marketing as if it’s some miraculous new invention of theirs, for something that should just be how it’s done.

So then if you want to move that goalpost again at least move it to a comparison that makes sense. SpaceX and Blue Origin are both Billionaire funded launch providers. Even though SpaceX now operates from their launch sales.

Meanwhile, Blue Origin has a complete lack of real world launch vehicles to send viable payloads. The best they’ve shown is a handful of tourism rides on New Shepard. And massive delays on the new engines for New Glenn and other rockets, which are finally starting to be delivered to customers massively delayed, but still no New Glenn rocket anywhere near being launched.

So the only products that met the budget actually approved by management.

That depends on if you see the current copyright system as far to start with. The current system is a far cry from how it was created and was co-opted by companies like Disney to maintain monopolies on their IP for MUCH longer than the system was supposed to protect.

I never had an issue with it. The sensor unlocked the phone every single time without exception.

Every in screen sensor I’ve used has had issues at one point or another. Power button sensors are theoretically good, but I rarely use the power button to turn on my screen. With all the alternative ways to wake up the phone, I rarely wake it using the power button.

Oh yeah it’s on there 3 times. I’ve even tried to retrain them again several times since I got it. Just doesn’t like that finger for whatever reason. Can’t see any reason why looking at it, but it’s extremely annoying since it’s the most convenient finger.

The screen sensor is also noticeably slower than the rear sensor from older models, and I do have more issues with other fingers occasionally. I much prefer the placement of the rear sensor as well. I rarely use the phone while it is sitting on the table, and was able to unlock the phone while still pulling it out of my pocket with the rear sensor since there was an actual physical spot for it you could feel, not just a specific spot on the glass.

Easily the biggest step down for usability with the Pixels in my opinion.

My Pixel 6 only has an issue with one finger. Unfortunately it’s my right thumb. The finger I want it to work with the most.

Literally the exact opposite. There is absolutely no scenario where these tools should be needed against American citizens. The fact police have them means they will be used against citizens already.

So the taxpayers did pay for it, just not only local taxpayers. It was taxpayers nationwide through the DoD budget, proving they don’t actually need everything we’re paying for. So the rest of the country is paying for some bumblefuck police department to get an MRAP.

What is the supposed justification for this department “requiring” this MRAP be “loaned” to them? DOD equipment and functionality should NEVER be utilized by police. The two are different groups for a reason. If the police need assistance at that level, they can call in the National Guard for that help. That’s why they exist. There is no reason a local police department ever needs an MRAP.
