I just upgraded to a foldable phone and it’s a game changer to have an 8in screen in your pocket. Reading long form content is so much more enjoyable, and I’d love to have an E-ink reader that folds like my phone does.

Even as someone who’s only a year into transition, I get a LOT more stares in a men’s room than I do a women’s room (which is actually zero) at this point. I have a good friend who was already pretty femme pre-transition and if she’s in a men’s room, guys will absolutely turn around and check the sign. As much as people think they can instantly clock a trans person, it’s far less the case than you might think, and a trans man going into a women’s restroom is going to be a problem just as the opposite is true.

If we’re talking about the radar+cameras, it’s about $30-40 each. Not insignificant, but for basic AEB it’s a small price for something that massively reduces collisions

Fortunately/unfortunately, they didn’t get bought by Amazon. I only say unfortunately because they made a lot of business decisions expecting it to go through, and when it didn’t, has caused them a ton of trouble. They seem to be hanging in there pretty well and this current gen of bots seems to be pretty solid. I’ve had iR stuff for over 20 years now and have generally only had good experiences, so they’re still my go-to.

I just bought one of the new 705s that has LIDAR and it’s been pretty fantastic. Most of their new lineup has LIDAR now and it’s been pretty good compared to my old j7’s vSLAM. I’m really not a fan of them being app based and hope that they’ll eventually work with Valetudo, but with 2 huskies and cats I just really don’t want to have to manually vacuum every single day.

As someone in that group, there’s a huge difference between doing well on paper and actually doing well. My peers and I are worried about losing our jobs, and there’s a likelihood we won’t be seeing a significant portion of our paychecks due to the economic hits from the tariffs. Sure, my net worth is technically higher since last year, but that doesn’t mean much when you’re 30 years from retirement. I can’t just infinite money glitch my 401k by taking out loans like billionaires can with their net worth.

I realize that I’m a lot better off than most, but I only bring this up to point out that even people who aren’t poor are also feeling plenty of negative economic pressure as well.

Living in the US, it certainly feels like the GOP is a hostile foreign invader holding us all hostage.

I like the theory that they are literally possessed by demons and it actively rots them at an accelerated rate.

This is something that hit me like a ton of bricks after living abroad for a bit. It definitely made me think a lot about how much more pleasant things are when people are at least marginally considerate of others, and just how little some people seem to do it in the US.

It’s pretty at this point he does. At one point I was very confused by the “emptying out mental asylums” talk, but after hearing him say something along the lines of “And you have the immigrants coming here from asylums, they’re literally sending us insane people”, it’s pretty clear at this point he absolutely thinks “asylum” means “mental institution”.

Unironically, this was exactly how the announcement at my old company went. Literally, someone getting paid millions of dollars a year basically saying “Yeah we made this decision on vibes alone”

The issue is legitimately that they’re all a bunch of massively racist fucks and were told for over a decade how the world saw us as a laughing stock (because we had a black man as president), despite being ridiculously popular on the world stage, and so they think just by having a rich white asshole suddenly we’re respected again, even though he’s truly the biggest laughing stock ever.
