The concept is wonderful. I do not trust Elon with that concept. I worry that many folks with high hopes of this helping them will just end up used and hurt.

According to that site, Napster pays more. Here’s the info on TIDAL:
I use Napster. I chose it way back when Spotify paid for the Rogan podcast, from a list of platforms that pay artists more. I’m not sure if that’s true any longer, but look it up! I’ve been really happy with their service. (And it’s really full circle for me, since I used their original service decades ago.)
ETA I can’t vouch for the accuracy of this site, but it says Napster is still one of the top-paying platforms.
I think you’re confusing a wealth tax with an income tax. They’re different. As for how these wealthy people pay, it’s not up to the government to figure out how someone pays their taxes. The onus is on the taxpayer.
“The government” doesn’t want to argue that. Some idiot politicians do.
For my generation, it was mostly TV. Same for Xers and Boomers, though they were also allowed to roam with no adult supervision. The habit of neglecting children is ingrained in our society, and computers are just the newest method.
Thanks for the heads up! I haven’t opened this one for a few weeks. Will have to check out the update.
JFC… 😔
That means that you’re the product
Well, it’s both. From the article, 2-3 wheelers do account for 60% of the drop:
Oh, nice! I didn’t have that one on my radar. Our next family car needs to be either hybrid or EV, and I’ve just started looking.
Or in a five-seater car or crossover. It’s ridiculous. Carseats and boosters are massive, even the ones with the smallest bases. Then after that you need space for sports equipment, musical instruments, other friends, etc. I’m not sure what the solution is here, other than acknowledging that for a few years in a family’s life they’re going to need a bigger vehicle, and it would be great if manufacturers offered a hybrid or EV solution for them, too.
Mazda is finally coming out with a PHEV three row next year, starting around $55k. Not sure who else, besides Rivian with their new fully EV three row at $75k+, which is completely unaffordable for most families.
Vancouver, BC in Canada did the same, though they actually fully banned foreign property purchasing. I’m guessing it’s low hanging fruit that won’t get much pushback within the country. Hopefully these are just first steps, in both cases.
Really wish fucking anything were being done in the US.
Oh, sweet! Thank you. I’ll see if I can figure this out this weekend.
I went to download it, and apparently I already had! Now to start subscribing to everything again…bleh.
It is! In a pressure cooker, you can cook beets in a basket over a layer of potatoes and garlic cloves. The beet drippings turn the potatoes pinkish-red. Super fun for kids.
“Google’s similarity demo uses the same technology to identify pictures of cats, so turning that into the world’s fanciest optical character recognition system sounds pretty doable.”
Oh, well then.
But why? Why is your DNA more you than literally every thing you’ve ever looked at or expressed an interest in?
That’s what you get for trying to have a real life.
