The lives that mattered (the victims’) have already been destroyed. Why are we protecting these people?
Her defiant reaction to the backlash was the worst part of it. She refuses to acknowledge people’s ire. She ends up making the case that she did it for Alaskans at the expense of the rest of her country. That she knew it was wrong but didn’t mind throwing everyone else under the bus.
How do they measure the difference between partial and full meltdowns?
They’ve set the stage for Trump to just do this all again in 6 months.
Rss feeds to download the mp3. VLC to play them. I like to relisten to some series so building a library makes it easy.
Man, she sees a jpeg and her head explodes.
He’s “written” more books than he’s read.
Democracies are only as functional as their courts. I think the US court system has been failing its people in a lot of ways, for some time now.
China’s getting a bit aggressive though atm. Not as bas as the US, but still not exactly ‘free’ for the countries involved.
Man, it would be really cool if we could just take them at their word. Unfortunately that’s not the world we live in.
By my understanding, 4chan left themselves vulnerable which, given the circles they foster, means they were going to be compromised. No fear of reprisal or consequence for it either. Not like when attacking a major corporation or government.
“We can’t do anything about it because he’s in another country. Ok, so here’s how we’re going to take Ukraine’s minerals…”
They have at different points in history. Maybe we’re due.
Similar experience for me. I was interested in the case at first cause I was hoping Billy Mitchell might face some consequences for his vexatious approach to litigation. Using threats of lawsuits to silence critics etc. But soon in it became clear to me that Jobst was using any excuse to make content, then padding out those videos with ads and petty attacks/lame jokes, all the while asking for more donations. I stopped watching early on.
Jobst was pleading for donations to help fight the lawsuit for a long time. Constantly making videos about it to get more viewers, sympathy and money. All to then run his mouth costing him the case.
Edit: Turns out Jobst was running his mouth the whole time. With so much donated money on the line, it was important to communicate the details of the case accurately but Jobst failed to do so. He made a lot content about it (monetized and sponsored) but was too arrogant about his chances of winning. IMO not as serious, careful or tactful as he should have been throughout.
Edit x2: Monday-morning lawyering from me but I stopped watching Jobst a long time ago because I just wasn’t on board.
Also, why do they get to talk like that when they’re threatening their owm neighbours and former allies.
To me, it never felt like Obama was truly committed. Also why promise it if you don’t know if you can actually do it or is contingent on factors outside your control?
