  • You make a great point, and the title of the article is misleading at best, really just plain wrong IMHO. But the title also doesn’t state he isn’t invested in the stock market, only that he doesn’t own any individual company stock.

Personally, I think this version is the most fair way for politicians. On one hand, any investment for them gives them incentive to put market health (money) over their constituents. On the other hand, investing in a 401k or mutual fund is something everyone should do, how else will you afford retirement?

To play a bit of devil’s advocate, the sense of progression for PvP comes from just getting better at the game and going from Silver to Gold, for instance. You can better learn the maps, new combos, where/when to engage the enemy, and improve muscle memory, all to fight for a better shiny badge (and probably loot drops).

  • To my shame, I’m still deeply ingrained in the Google ecosystem. I settled on it like 8-10 years ago and I’m not sure how to dig myself out of this pit. More than Chrome, I heavily use Docs, Sheets, Drive, Wallet, YouTube, Gmail, I even have a Pixel (I hate how bloated Samsung is).

I’ve used Firefox a little for work because of the nice containers feature. Is Google Drive bad too? It’s so easy to share things, I torrent a lot of books and I’ve shared with a bunch of friends, idk if there’s an alternative that others could easily use.

  • I’ve got maybe 40 hours played, reached level 20 something.

I guess I place a higher emphasis on base building in these games and compare it to like Valheim, V Rising, or Raft. I expect it to get better (I still haven’t figured out terraforming for farms) but it feels so bad to regrind for materials because I want my base pretty.

When I last played on March 1st, the workbench had a pretty limited number of things to craft when it came to base furniture (mostly had building materials). I had to initiate it by talking to the relevant craftsman. I’m okay with armor/weapons/forge type upgrades sticking with their inventories, but personally would rather have a single spot to build all my base stuff instead of having to remember who to talk to.

  • This game is a ton of fun, I love the story, I love how easy it is to re-spec your character, but the experience of base building is hot garbage.

You use raw materials to make separate building materials. Kinda cool in theory, especially because everything is laid out on a pretty fine grid, allowing for a lot of freedom in placements.

But then you get better building materials, you go from Rough Stone to Cut Stone and guess what, you have to farm 700 stone again and all your previous building materials are literal trash because you can’t break them down into raw materials.

You can make bigger, better chests now? That’s great! Wait, why can’t I find it in the workbench menu next to the small chests? I have to talk to this other guy? Where do I find rugs? Is it my build hammer menu, the workbench menu, do I talk to the carpenter or the hunter?

    It’s just awkward all around.

A friend of mine tied a feather to a long stretchy string and it’s the cat’s new favorite toy. He’ll pounce on it, etc. as cats do, but his favorite thing is to grab it and bring it to his bed. He just kinda walks it over there, lays on it for a second, then wants you to toss it away so he can catch it again lol.
