I wish you a very nice go the fuck away you objectifying predator.

That’s not a thumb you dumbass, that’s her index finger separated from the others for the cat to rest on. Thumb is on the other side of the cat. Have you never held a cat in one arm and cradled it on your palm like that?
Edit: I checked, to humor you. It’s a well-known image of Carrie Fisher in costume as princess Leiah, taken decades before anything even resembling an AI existed.
It’s not the whole plane, just major systems. The main cost is the engines, that alone likely costs millions. As it mentioned, there’s other overhauls too, like the landing gear that’s due. These are all on a fixed schedule related to “this many flight-hours” and a certain number of years or months for some parts. The engine overhaul isn’t just “six to twelve months,” it’s “this many flying hours” (which typically comes out to 6-12 months all the same).
I wouldn’t be upset about the overhauls, that’s a normal part of the cost of owning a plane (though it’s harder to sell if it’s due one, because the buyer will have to spend a fuckton of money before flying it).
The upsetting part is that’s is foreign and not up to spec - AKA yeah they’ll have to remove, scan, x-ray and debug every part of that interior and redo the entire electrical and coms system, and install nuclear shielding on the whole-ass plane. Still cheaper than buying a new AF1 but not by as much as one would hope.
Like like they’re maybe trying to avoid the hate crime charge via an insanity plea…?
Appears to be the 50501 protest thing 50 protests, 50 states, one day. It’s a coordinated peaceful protest at each state capital against project 2025. https://50501.carrd.co/
Fair take. I just always considered Twitter a shithole to begin with. I don’t give him the honor of renaming it because he thinks his kids shouldn’t get the same rights as a software package in that regard.
It’s Twitter. The man deadnames his own daughter; I’m sure as hell gonna deadname his social cesspool.
I could see LoRa radio nodes making deep-forest IoT sensors possible. Have a solar station with starlink provide internet access, then use it as a LoRa (or other packet radio) modem for a couple-mile radius of sensors. Each sensor package could be a fairly cheap box with sensor, solar power and a radio. Would be super easy to deploy hundreds of those, all served by the same completely autonomous satellite station, and cheap to replace failing hardware (just see which nodes stop talking and send replacements when a bunch fail).
FYI: Everything is free on [*.torrent, for Linux iso’s totally] until Doomsday.
Only the Anders can C# (see sharp). He’s the only one in the image who doesn’t need glasses…
Yeah, I instinctively tried to open mine with vinyl gloves on once and immediately thought “I’m dumb, gotta take these gloves off first.” That was a good shock when it actually worked first try, much confusion…
Why do all of these things make me feel old… I’m gen Z but heavily relate to gen x and millennial when people ask me “wtf does that mean?” and I just say “it was before your time.” Like wtf it was “before my time” too… idk I guess that’s the only benefit of being adopted by boomers.
Gen Z here, after creating my mastodon account on an infosec instance and using that for a while, I found out about Lemmy and ditched reddit for good. So after registering on a smaller furry instance through my browser and trying a couple of different apps, I ended up here… not all of us are dumb ipad kids. Don’t get me wrong either, most of my generation are indeed a bunch of skibidi-brains… but there’s some hope anyways. I think. If we survive the civil unrest, climate change, the coming world war, and the general ignorance of the vast majority of our generation… ok maybe we are fucked. I guess we can thank the boomers together for that.
Yes, and Google Translate is a huge red flag as well. Having taken six years of Latin in school I can confidently say that Google will lie to your face. Discō does not mean “I go / am going” (eō would be more appropriate). It directly means “I am learning” with “hell” in the ablative case, so it’s assumed to mean “I’m learning (through / by means of) hell / Inferno.” So it’s very poetic, but the given translation of “I am learning by way of hellfire (torture)” certainly works. I’ve seen stranger from Cicero…
Google translate sucks at Latin… Discō is in no way “I am going.” It could be translated as “I am learning (by means of, regarding, in some way relating to) hell/“The Inferno” (which could be taken symbolically as torture).” So yeah, they’re stretching the grammar a bit, although I’ve seen worse in Cicero. A less poetic translation would be “Per dolorem disco,” but that’s nowhere near as funny to say aloud…

Heck yeah. Slava Ukraini!
