Have been playing and just finished Geodepths. Really nice indie dev first person mining, smelting, resource gathering on an alien planet type of game. Wish it had lasted longer to be honest.

Thanks, that was actually really interesting and I learnt stuff I didn’t know beforehand. The thing is your comment seemed to trigger quite a few people (me included) because it seemed insensitive. Thankfully you later commented that “For some people (like all the ones in the article) they want it fixed. Others are perfectly happy the way they are, and both are fine and none of anyone else’s business” so you obviously get it. It’s funny how easy it is for people to misunderstand each other in forums like this. This has been a learning experience for me.
Hey there chief, got any sources for your comment? Like any kind of peer reviewed references to the links between oxytocin and loneliness, romantic relationships and orgasm? Would be interesting to read.
You forget a thousand voice chatbots every day, how about you make sure this is one of them…
I recently re-installed The Crew 2 because I wanted to start a new character and start the story again from scratch. Unfortunately I’d forgotten that YOU CAN’T START AGAIN (Jackie Chan Confused Meme). Because of these ridiculous shenanigans of theirs your progress is inextricably tied to your online account. They have literally built a system that limits replayability. Bravo.
I’ve sunk 473 hours into it haha. Haven’t played it recently though… and you’ve just reminded me of it so I’m going to go salvage a Mackerel right now! :)
Can I hazard a guess that you’re an ex redditor? People try to be nicer to each other here. I’m a reddit refugee myself and it’s sometimes hard to change habits but this place is nice and it’s worth it. To me this whole migration kerfuffle seems like a rare opportunity to be more thoughful in my interactions with people online. So far it’s making for a much nicer experience.
Back in the 90’s I owned a Forte VFX1 headset (shout out to my config.sys and autoexec.bat bros) and that truly tested your stomach but it was “the future” so everyone seemed to put up with the near constant nausea and vomiting. Things are so much better now, but there’s one fundamental aspect of VR in my view that will always hold it back. It’s not the cost, cos that eventually comes down. It’s that you’ll never get away from the fact that you are wearing a giant plastic thing on your head. You can’t itch your face. It gets hot and sweaty and generally not a fun time after a while. The minute someone figures out how to safely somehow beam the experience into your brain, without having to wear a high tech casserole dish on your head for hours then it’ll become the new global thing.
Isn’t this game living up to the hype then? When I heard that planet landings and takeoffs were going to be cut scenes I did wonder.
The Homeworld 3 demo is impressive and I’m really enjoying Lightyear Frontier as well. Definitely going to buy both when they come out in March. I’ve been hooked on the Homeworld universe since I started playing it in the 90’s (25 years ago! lol I’m old) so it’s been quite a long wait but it looks like BBI have done a great job. I’ve loved them since Hardspace Shipbreaker so I knew this would be something special.
